I thought it might say "smoked some cheeb. Played C.O.D all day."
Glad to hear MJ is giving him a look.
I hope he does well. Just lay off the herbals, Jerel!
There are more than a few "herbsmen" in NC. JM should walk carefully
Yes, he was caught with marijuana. That does not make him a pothead nor should he be associated with all the related stereotypes of being such. Those posts are just annoying and completely unfounded. I see the humor in it, but it wears off pretty quickly. We should be supporting him not deriding him for a misstep.
He tested positive.
I'd be smoking weed too if I was living in Belgium.
Professional basketball players smoking marijuana is not something new. It is also not something unusual.

With this, and the alleged Acker deal pre-season, I can only wonder what the lobby at Humphrey smelled like.

Like the lobby of every dorm of every university in the US?

Ha! Awesome.
Jerel got caught doing sonething he knew was prohibited. I don't see any confusion; he did wrong.

Do you think there is any room for him in the Christian community?

Of course there is. But he did wrong and must atone for that. Forgiveness comes through contrition. Redemption comes through living correctly. He must accept that he did wrong and is sincere about living righteously. If his penance includes exclusion from the NBA then he must recognize the consequences of his actions.
Do you believe otherwise?

I do. Especially in that language, with that righteousness.
Who do you think should decide what is penance should be? If he never gets picked up by an NBA team, will all those GMs have decided that his penance should be "exclusion from the NBA"?
Would McNeal then have a case, saying there was collusion against him?
Is there some higher authority who could straighten this out for everyone? Would that be David Stern?
Arbitrary rules are arbitrary. Jerel is an adult that did something in his own home that didn't hurt himself or anyone else. Being punished for something so frivolous is a waste of everyone's time and energy.
Yea Jerel should never be allowed in the NBA due to this incident. I mean the NBA banishes everyone who has ever used marijuana while in the league.
I think if he can play a solid role in summer league, he will get a chance to stick. It will come down to his skills much more than what happened over in Turkey.

Yup. Though it was Belgium.

Oh my god, seriously? God doesn't care about Jerel, or anyone, smoking marijuana. You may say he did wrong legally, but trying to bring in moral implications and judgments for doing something as harmless as smoking marijuana is laughable.
He wouldn't have had this problem if he was playing in Amsterdam.

Wow total brainfart. Thanks. Got him messed up with James.

I apologize for not using blue ink for my sarcasm. The blue ink is a pet peeve of mine. My question for MedicineHat was satirical, given his statement of yesterday that Crean didn't belong in the "christian community."
That's why I quoted his statement and asked him specifically if he wanted to stand in judgment of McNeal as well. So to answer your question: No, not seriously.
Oh, well. I suppose there is a place for blue ink sarcasm after all.

Oh, sorry then. Thank god, I was seriously worried about some scoopers were getting wayyy too lofty on their moral high-horse on a kid who worked harder than 99 percent of us that graduated from MU.
