Title: Moon
Post by: RawdogDX on May 17, 2010, 11:33:35 AM
There is a movie called Moon, currently availble on instant netflix.  It is incredible.  It is the best movie you've never heard of(unless you keep up on sundance movies).

I saw it about a month ago, it was good, but not the best movie I never heard of. :)

The movie is good if you can survive the first half, where it is excruciatingly boring. It took all I had in me to not turn it off

I'll clarify by adding a stipulation. It's the best movie of it's kind since alien or 2001.

Classic sci-fi, at one point, were almost always boring at the start with a ton of character and plot development.  I thought it was a great throw back to an earlier era where sci-fi didn't mean an action movie.

Odd note, the writer/director is david bowie's son.

RDX:
Based upon your recommendation, I ordered "MOON."  Man, if it isn't any good, somebody's going to pay big time.
Get my drift, goombah?

That really is a great movie. Rockwell delivers such a great performance and the story is amazing.

Watched Moon last night. Very, very good. Rockwell is great, and I'm excited to see the rest of the trilogy. Some of the effects were pretty bad looking, but understandable with a low budget.

watched last week.
I thoroughly enjoyed, agree the effects were a bit cheesy (outside of the base)

I had no idea it was going to be a trilogy.  That is exciting news.

Watched Moon a few days ago, due to the recommendations here.

Didn't do a lot for me.

my friend (who is the biggest movie buff i know) had me go with him last summer to "Moon". I didn't know what to expect with "Moon" but was pleasantly surprised, and a little creeped out.
