With his recent performances he would be lucky to make the 2nd round. So we should be a better team next year, top 10
he needs to shoot non stop in practice, he has every else, non stop shots for 5 hours every day
He shoots enough in the game you'd THINK he shoots as much during his drills.
I am kind of annoyed, I'd be pissed if James played poorly again today, but he didn't. McNeal and Fitz, especially, should be the people shooting non-stop. Did Fitz even make a shot today? And remember when Cubillan actually was a FACTOR off the bench for us? Lay off James already. Yeah, he'll be back, he's not NBA ready, but there are other people who should have played better today.
I'll be ecstatic if we keep our Naismith candidate for one more year!!
Quite frankly, I am glad that everybody, basically, will be back next year.
lab... yeah 6-20, good job james

I don't mean this to be as bad as a knock on him as everyone's going to take it, but how is he a Naismith candidate? I think he's a really good player who can only get better and I'm happy to have him here, but there's no way he's among the top 30 NCAA basketball players this year.
So ,we cough up this year as a learning exp. We should be a force next year . We are probably 2 and done in the dance . So what .We didn't have a chance to make the final 4 anyway .
I probably meant 1 and done . I think we will make the 2nd round.
I will be thrilled if DJ comes back for another year to hone his shot and improve his decision making. If the three big guys coming in can contribute more than Kinsella, Lott, and Blackledge, I like our chances to go deep next year.
We need toughness inside ,guard play can only carry us so far ala Villanova last year .
and I really think it would be good for DJ as well. DJ is a tremendous talent and right now he's playing like, well, a sophomore. He, Crean and everybody else put way to much pressure on him to be NBA ready this year. He is not. If all of us would just sit back and think how great it is for us to have this trio of great guards and how great it is for them to be having this much success THIS EARLY in their careers we'd have to be happy. With one and who knows maybe 2 years to work on their games these guys could have a season like St Joe's a few years ago.
We've just got to be patient, but this stupid James NBA watch has got me almost hoping he stays in the slump.
Next year with us losing virtually NOTHING in scoring or rebounding, a top 100 power forward, a full year for Lazer and Fitz a super senior plus a year more maturity in the 3 amigos games, Boy I'd love to watch that team

I would be thrilled to be "stuck" with one of the better PG's in the nation again next year. His shot should get better, he will be stronger, more mature, etc, etc.
I consider that a blessing, not something to be "stuck" with. As much complaining that goes on around here about DJ at times, be careful what you wish for. Have we ever seen Cubillian or anyone else run the point for 35 minutes a game for 30 games? Don't be in such a rush to find out how that experiment goes.
Chicos,just a little sarcasm
Dj had 9 boards and 8 assists with only 1 turnover yesterday. I was not disappointed with the number of shots he took yesterday. Why?
1. Matthews and McNeal missed large portions of the game due to foul trouble
2. Whenever Matthews and McNeal miss time, James is forced to put up shots that he might not ordinarily take.
3. Fitz sucking it up on 1-8 shooting for the game and from 3 point range
4. Hayward none existent yesterday.
5. Cubillan was the only other player who looked to create and was willing to shoot after we encountered foul trouble. No one else.
McNeal needs to play a lot smarter and I am not taking about turnovers. It seems like he is getting into a lot of foul trouble. We need him on the court not on the bench.
Fitz needed to show the ball and try to take the ball to the hoop. His shots were rushed yesterday.
Whatever the reason ,teammates not complimenting him etc. ,He is hurting his resume for current NBA action and ultimately that WILL help us
Would love to have DJ for another year. Get everyone to improve some and we will be a better more consistent team.
His intention prior to the season was to opt for the draft----hence TC brought in Acker and used his schollie----however the way things have developed in the last 6-7 games I don't see how that will happen !

Make sure you look behind you as you backpeddle off of prior statements
oh what a predicament - I could think of worse:
stuck with Fraser or Paulus.
freeway----I'm not back peddling -------what I've reported is that DJ told Crean prior to the season he was leaving for the NBA-----and this is accurate-----so TC signs Acker to replace DJ and gives DJ's schollie away. However things certainly haven't gone that way he had anticipated----I don't know where things stand now!
He's willing, but is the NBA at this point?
Being "stuck" with him for another year is great for this team. It gives them another junior with experience and with he and Acker, it allows Cube to play a 2 guard more which is what he is more comfortable in. With him back, i'm really looking forward to having 3 juniors, a senior and most likely another senior or sophomore in the starting lineup...depending on how fitz and hayward improve this summer...that's a lot more experience than this year and the improvement will hopefully get us deep into the tourney.
