Don't know if this was posted or not. Scroll down and you'll see a interview with Brandon. This would be a HUGE recruit for Buzz. Could be tough to beat out the Boilers & IU.

This would be MORE than huge. Could definetly make MU a final four contender in the coming years! We already know Buzz recruits great but this would be much, much more than that.

Could be tough to beat out...IU.
Why? This is ot the classic Tommy Crean recruit...he is too highly rated!
I thought IU had no chance... did something change?
Most think Purdue or MSU. Surprising if it wasn't the Boilermakers
Dom James was supposedly a boilermaker as well. Hopefully history repeats itself with Dawson.
I think all big recruits are going to wait to commit until they see how this nationwide conference realignment plays itself out.
Go Warriors.

Except for MSU fans, who think he's headed to Marquette.
link to MSU boards?
Dawson is priority one A. Saw him at Haunted Hoops. Hell of a talent and a big forward. Can rebound with the best of them. Would be a huge get if Buzz and company can pull this one off.

It is in the Official 2011 recruiting thread, with more discussion.

I heard he was Purdue's, but now has switched from SYF (Hummel, Martin, and Moore) to Mac Irvin?, so Purdue isn't as confident. Of course didn't Smith play for Mac Irvin? Also did anyone else see Wade has an AAU program now called the Chicago Flash? As always, this must be good for recruiting.
From what i've heard from Illinois' bball mod on rivals and Purdue fans, it would be a huge upset if any school except Purdue landed Branden Dawson
They are calling Dawson the second coming of The Big Dog

I wonder if he consumes mary jane to the same level the Big Dog did. That was impressive.

That seems to be the consensus everywhere I've read. However, he isn't going to sign until spring so there is a lot of time left. Hopefully he can see another good year from our guys and see himself fitting in. Like others have said, there probably isn't a better guy to come in and fill Butler's shoes. I've never seen him play or know a whole lot about his game, but someone said at 6'6" he's one of the best rebounders in the nation.
According to MSU fans, writers from NW Indiana have said they've heard from people, who have heard that his AAU coach was quoted as saying he was gonna get paid. They all played telephone, I guess.
If this is the spin coming from MSU, and NW Indiana, I think MU is in really good shape here.

I wouldn't read too much into the Glen Robinson comparisons. They're pretty much due to the fact that Dawson goes to the same High School that Robinson did. It's actually meant as a complement.
He sounds absolutely perfect for our needs. Lazar steps out as the main man in the frontcourt, Jimmy steps in. Jimmy steps out, Dawson steps in. The thought of Blue and DJO in the backcourt and Dawson in the frontcourt in 2 years is extremely tantalizing. And if Blue works out as a point guard, I can only dream of what would happen if he stayed until his Junior year, Dawson until at least his sophomore year, and Buzz nabbed JP Tokoto. Couple that with guys like Cadougan, Williams, Jones, Newbill, Smith, and Gardner all progressing as we hope they will and that could be a serious contender in 2-3 years.
Big Dog went to Roosevelt. Dawson is at Lew Wallace, different high schools.
Jerome Harmon went to Lew Wallace, he was a 6-4 wing that played for Louisville.
Second best player I ever played against. First was Kirk Manns, North Judson High School and went to Michigan State. Manns scored 50 on me (in a 32 minute high school game) :o. I think Harmon only had 30 something.
