MU inks big man in Gardner
Marquette University's 2010-'11 recruiting class grew even bigger on Monday, and in more ways than one.
http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/92722969.html
Article says one of the recruits is going to Prep school to PG next year. My guess is Reggie Smith with all the guards on the roster, but who knows. Any guesses?
My only guess is that Reggie will be going to prep school
Source within the program says one of the six new signees will attend prep school. Hopefully that will begin to put to rest all the talk about who on the current team is leaving. If true it means that Buzz probably knew one of the kids either couldn't get into MU or wasn't ready for the college workload.
In Buzz we Trust.
But but but but but but I thought it was CLEAR Mbao is leaving.
If one of the players goes to a prep school do they still go to mu next year?

No, they're in prep school.
My question is, is the LOI this One of Six signed still binding for the next year-plus or do they need to be re-signed in the fall?
need to be resigned as it is year by year
I'm not familiar with the "Signed LOI but going to prep school" thing. How committed does the player become towards the school that they signed with? Do they stay committed (i.e. tied to the school since they signed the LOI) or does the whole recruiting process start all over for them?
anyone else excited Mbao is probably staying? Thats a lot of big kids (Otule, Mbao, Gardner)
If they go to Prep School they are no longer bound to MU (and for that matter MU is no longer bound to them). You'd have to believe that unless the kid totally blows up MU would be the leader if they wanted him back.
But I though Mbao at that Tri Lam party was depressed, and unsure of his future.

I am very happy Mbao is staying. Now we have both ends of the spectrum. We have have a center that is so heavy he cannot jump and a center that is so skinny he cannot jump either. We need a transplant of weight between the two.

Yes I am! Love all the length up front... at least one of these guys will develop into a big-time contributor.
The next poll should be whose happy Mbao is staying. I'll be pleased if he stays. :)
I have no inside information but there could be another signing besides Gardner.

Trolling for more "who's leaving" rumors?
QuoteThis story will be updated.
Ominous.
maybe Gardner and Mbao can have wing/sobel/qdoba eating contests. Nothing like some competitive eating to help yous bulk up.

So the average MU center will be the perfect weight!

Wonder how much excess body fat Gardner has...
Count me as happy that Mbao is probably staying. I hope the recruit that goes the prep route ends up at one of Buzz' Texas pipelines and forms a bond with a 2011 stud.

Pretty sure I heard somewhere that Reggie was the only incoming freshman who was not on campus this past weekend...if true, my money would be on him.

That always seems to be a problem at Marquette - too many big men. ;D

ahhhh nope. Personally don't want anyone to leave or not honor their commitment but there has been talk over the last month or so that Buzz was looking for 1 or 2 more recruits.
I am psyched if everyone is coming back. There seems to have been huge jumps from 1st year to 2nd year improvement with Buzz's recruits. Hence, can't wait to see the improvements with Erik Williams, Junior, Buycks, DJO and Mbao. Also Fulce and Otule I hope can take it to the next level. Also excited to see the new recruits and if one agrees prep is best for them this year and will join the team in 2011.
Fulce was right in tweeting about our new recruit as a big (bog) boy no homo.

That's right. Though I think I prefer Big Ox as a nickname over Bog Boy (no homo).

IWB said his nickname is Ox, or Big Self.

If yous was at a Lambda Lambda Lambda party, he is probably 1) a dork, 2) a homo, or 3) U.N. Jefferson.
My guess on the prep school is Smith.
It doesn't make sense that it would be a late signee like Newbill. In fact, they may have signed Newbill because they knew a similar player would be heading to prep school.

It may be plausible, but Smith and Newbill are not similar players.

MBAO IS LEAVING. He has consistently said that after classes are out, he's going home for a visit before coming back for summer school.

They're both guards. That is all I meant by that.
