per Telep.... 2011 Post ANTHONY DAVIS is about to emerge as a new name for High Majors to follow/target. (not a "banger" body)
DT's report has Davis impressing tonight in Indy
QuoteANTHONY DAVIS (Chicago,IL) : C/PF, Meanstreets: If every tipster called with a guy like this, life would be good. The calls began last week about Davis and on Friday night he aced the eyeball test. Davis is a 6-foot-9 (and growing), long, agile shot blocker with explosion at the rim and enough offense to be counted as an elite level prospect.
The guy was hidden in a non-descript league in high school, injured at Boo Williams and is an unspoiled prospect ready to be molded into a serious player. Davis chased rebounds out of his area, blocked shots with his elbows and flushed it down when called for. We didn't keep stats but he flirted with a triple-double. Syracuse slid into his gym and offered, but while the Cuse may have been first, but the phones at Perspectives Charter are going to be ringing come Monday morning

Get on him Buzz.....
Lockdown Chi-town!!!
That may be fromer NBAer Anthony Davis' son. Pretty sure they live in or around Naperville. Anyone know?
Just don't let him talk to JMay. He may feel boxed in.

Davis sees himself more as a slasher than a post player as well.
I really liked what I saw out of Jamari Traylor in that video clip. Even though he doesn't have the size of Davis it looks like he was a bit more coordinated and powerful and could really build on an already decent high school frame.
Buzz - Guarantee him playing time and tell him the offense will run through him!
Scout updated their rankings for the Class of 11. Anthony Davis moved from 'NR' to the 9th best OVERALL prospect.

9 from ILL and 7 from IND.
Interesting to search for Marquette on that list. Lots of players that look interesting.

There aren't many listing MU. I expect that will change.
that highlight video is pathetic....
for a few reasons, its from about 3 games? I didn't watch the whole thing
neither of those guys are BE players.

#17 Branden Dawson (SF)
#52 Jahii Carson (PG)
#61 DeAngelo Harrison (SG)
#84 LeAntwan Luckett (SG)
#89 Rodney Hood (SF)
#91 Nick Faust (SG)
MU has been mentioned with others on the Top 100 list.
old news with this guy he blew up a few months ago and every big time program has been on him for months. Dont get me wrong i will never count out Buzz but this Telep seems to think he found a nugget at the AMC tourney. he is about 2-3 months late.

Sooooo, Anthony Davis is good enough for every conference EXCEPT the BE? He currently has over 20 offers from high D1 programs, including UK. I'll take Calipari's and Thad Matta's opinion of the kid over yours. He also recorded a triple-double on the second day of the EYBL. The scout scholly list doesnt include everyone so im not sure if Buzz has jumped in or not. However, both his parents are big Illini fans so he could be leaning there.
it looked liked they were playing against a jv team and no one taller than 6'1"

all i had to judge him from was that video, I can do all the things just as impressively if not more so than him in those videos.
I was trying to say, that the video left me feeling like the guy wasn't that great. I guess i was wrong, no reason for you to take offense to it.
Well, I think its far better to read about a kid than to watch a highlight reel. A D3 player can look good for 30 seconds... Hell, I could put together a nice highlight reel...on an 8 ft hoop.
good call!
I jumped to conclusions about the guy.
Although I did not see the tournament myself, I heard he dominated Mike Shaw and Mac Irvin Fire a few weeks ago.
That officially constitues blowing up.

"no reason for you to take offense to it."
Actually, jumping and then stomping on other's posts has unfortunately become a popular form of sport on this board.

Agreed. Can't wait til the season gets here and hopefully it will die down then.
maybe first time i've said a negative comment on this board...
lets not blow it out of proportion, after all i did recant my statement shortly after.
I was feeling a little confrontational this morning.
Who's this turd at the beginning trying to be all "street"? "What up ya'll?" "I'm here with your boy." I'm pretty sure he has never said those words ever before in his life...doesn't sell it very well either...
Sounds like he's taken a page out of Roseboro's "How to talk like your from da hood."

Is that why it's so horrible?
