Title: Best HS Point Guard I Have Seen In Person
Post by: bradforster on April 27, 2010, 12:21:14 PM
Last night I attended the Donofrio Classic outside of Philly and the highlight of the evening was 6-1 do it all point guard Kyrie Irving out of St. Patrick High School in New Jersey.  He looked like a man amongst boys in a tournament replete with basketball talent.  Irving effortlessly drove past defenders and showed an innate leaping ability in throwing down one of the most impressive dunks I've ever seen from a point guard.  He's going to be that rare one and done player to come out of Duke under Coach K.  Tomorrow I'll be posting a video of this special talent, whose undoubtedly bound for NBA superstardom.  The basketball skill in this part of the country is off the charts and I hope Buzz continues to recruit the area.  Perhaps DJ will be the Northeast Marquette trailblazer.

Why would you post video here of a PG who is going to Duke next year?

I would appreciate seeing the video.  I liked Brad's efforts on the DJ Newbill video.  Not much else to post about during the offseason other than recruit speculation.

This is coming from the same person who feels compelled to write about Vander taking Mo's number next year.  Talk about something completely nugatory.  You are hilarious.  If you don't want to see the video, simply avoid clicking on the link.

I am thinking (based on Sultan's use of teal) he meant it as sarcasm.

But then again I have to go look up the word "nugatory", so what do i know?!

Newbill was 6'4 and a quarter.  He could still possibly get to 6'5.  He wasn't your typical 6'2 guy listed at 6'4 that's for sure.

I believe we may be playing Duke next year in the CBE.  Junior your task is at hand.

I forgot to post that I asked Kylie if he'd consider backing out of his agreement with Duke to play for Marquette and he graciously declined.  I even offered the Reggie Bush housing plan as an enticement.  Oh well, hopefully we get a chance to see him against MU in the pre-season tourney next year.  It would certainly be a fun watch.

By the way, I want to ensure the NCAA I didn't actually offer the Reggie Bush housing plan.  You never know what blogs those nuts may be perusing.

Actually, I have been deputized by the NCAA to monitor this board.  I notice, Mr. Foster, that under your name you are listed as a scholarship player.  Yet, you are not on the official scholarship list submitted my Marquette to the NCAA.  Is this some new kind of obfuscation developed by Marquette to skirt the NCAA scholarship limit?  You can expect to be subpoenaed on this matter some time next week.
