The Jazz start their playoff series without Andrei Kirilenko, and it seems he will miss the entire series. this should give Wes even more time and will also likely force him to guard some of the Nuggets premier scorers more than he might have otherwise. It will likely force him into some situations where he will be fairly undersized. Should be really fun to watch and another huge opportunity for Wes to shine, only this time on an even bigger stage.
Okur tore his achilles, too, and is out for the playoffs -- obviously Wes isn't going to play at the 5, but you'd have to think that in shifting around bodies to make up for the loss of Okur, Wes will see a lot more playing time.
The more playing time for Wes the better.
Why NOT play Wes at the 5? He has experience there.

He is getting enough PT. At this point, its the further the Jazz advance the more experience and notorietyhe gets. With AK and Okur out, they won't be getting very far
I could be wrong but it appeared Wes was guarding Melo at times in game 1, but of course no one was very effective in stopping him.
