We need it to be Crowder.

I say Crowder because of his experience. Hopefully, Blue is as good as advertised. But most freshman struggle, and WI high school basketball isn't all that great.

If we have lineups with Jimmy at the 5, Crowder would have to be in to compliment with some beef, so I think he sees enough PT to have the biggest impact.

I told myself looking at it Crowder should run away with it. Right as I voted I hopped everyone thought the same thing. And he is running away with it. He will easily have the biggest impact and probably play the most being the experienced junior and playing a position of need.

Please don't do this to me.  Let me live in my dreamworld where Butler/Crowder/Fulce together only play center a total of 15 minutes per game.  I want to live in a world in which Otule averages 25 minutes a game at the five position.

Please, oh, please let Otule be healthy, effective, and non-foul prone at the five next season.

Let's just say I have a feeling this coming year will be much more exciting than recruits than the past few years, excluding the DJO and Jimmy get of course.

Collectively the two top 100 recruits are getting a minority of the votes.  That's how deep this year class is.

That's something I've been wondering about...

How would the best JUCO player in the nation rate against the best HS player in the nation?  Obviously there's a reason why they end up in JUCO as opposed to Div1 NCAA for a number of reasons, but Div1 NJCAA has to at least be on par with the better high school teams, right?  For example, how would have Crowder's JUCO team done in that tournament where everyone fell in love with the Jamailman?

Sorry if it's a dumb question, but I'm really just wondering

I think you're underestimating Jamail Jones.  Throughout this high school season he was playing against the toughest competition in the nation and was an absolute stud.  He's 6'5", can handle the ball, can JUMP, and can stroke it from the outside.  I guarantee he will not be only in the 4 spot, and in fact will probably play mostly 3 and even some 2.  I think we'll see him from the 2-4 and he'll get the 2nd most minutes out of any of the newcomers (behind Crowder), and if O'Tule's not getting it done we could move Butler and Crowder to the 4/5 and have Jones (or Buycks) at the 3.  I'm convinced he's going to be a very big contributor next year and only improve from there.

I also think Buycks is going to improve quite a bit and get more minutes at the 2/3 than Blue.  Blue will be an absolute stud, but I'm not sure if he'll be the immediate impact player that most people think he will be on here (he'll have some impact, but I don't expect over 10 a game from him his freshman year...hope I'm wrong though).  He played against Wisconsin high school competition and is a bit on the thin side (although from the sound of it he's been on campus quite a bit this semester, so hopefully he's getting some workouts in with the team already).  His shot also needs improvement.  But he'll be really good in a year or two (and decent this year).

I love having these debates though.  We haven't had to debate our starting lineup and bench positions for what?  As long as I can remember.

Also, how fun would it be to see a lineup of (not necessarily starting, just on the court at one time):
PG - Cadougan 6'1" (or Blue if need be at 6'4"ish)
SG - Jones 6'5"
SF - Butler 6'7"
PF - Crowder 6'6"
C - O'Tule 6'10"
That would also be the most height I've seen on the court at one time for a Marquette team in quite a while, since maybe 2003 (Deiner 6'1" Wade 6'4" Novak 6'10" or Townsend 6'7" Jackson 6'10" and Merritt 7')

Long term I think it will be Blue, but next year I expect it to be Crowder. He'll step right into Lazar's role and we need him to deliver production and leadership from day one.

Jones has the skills, no doubt, but he doesn;t have the body yet to play major minutes.  I think next year he will be mostly a shooter, give us 10 minutes a game.

Someone copped my Tony Miller bubblebee jersey a couple of weeks ago.  That was custom made and sent to me which means he took it right off MUScoop.

I think Jae Crowder or Vander Blue will have the biggest impact.  I could see both of them averaging 10+ ppg

I'd rank them, in terms of immediate impact...
1. Crowder
2. Jones
3. Blue
4. Smith
5. Newbill

Not a dumb question at all, and one I'd love to see a definitive answer to. Guys go to JuCos for various reasons. Look at Justin Coleman, a consensus top 50 recruit who may have to play at the JuCo level because he's struggling to qualify academically. In the past, JuCo stars like Jannero Pargo and Stephen Jackson went on to play in the NBA. Sometimes it's grades, sometimes it's honing their talent, sometimes it's not being discovered in time by a major college. The way I look at it, Crowder is coming out of the NJCAA as the best player at his age range not playing in either the NBA or NCAA (hence JuCo player of the year award) and my guess is that makes him pretty darn good, especially when you consider Buzz's track record with guys like Butler and DJO.

I think Crowder because he has had to wait two years to be on the big stage.
I think he feels like he waited his turn and did all the right things to get here.
He looks comfortable on the court.  Juco kids get a taste of college life,HS kids are lost for a while.. The big thing to me is what these thirteen are going to do all summer to get prepared for the Bigeast? Outside of boot camp, anybody know?

Newbill has said that he will be on campus at the beginning of July to take two classes and begin to workout.

Mbao told another poster last night that he would be back in Milwaukee for the start of summer school, as well.
