Was @ angelo's last night- saw they were selling slices of pizza for $1.50 around bar close... genius, long overdue, and delicious.

Anyone remember Guillianos (sp)?  It was on Wells between 15th and 16th I think.  We used to go there late night all the time my freshman year (92-93) and get 2 giant slices and a crappy beer, either red white and blue or meister brau I think, for $3.50.

I remember the night they closed down people tore the place apart.  Tables were being rolled down Wells St.

I've been saying for years that they should turn that door on 16th street into a mini storefront for pizza by the slice.  Blows gets packed at night and sometimes you just want a little drunk food and to be on your way.

How long has angelos been called blows? My sister mentioned it to me awhile ago and I didn't know what she was talking about.

Remember it well. The two slices and a beer deal was great. Thanks for bringing back a fond memory.

We called it that my freshman year which was 2002, so for quite some time.

Same with my freshman year in '99.

Ahhh, such a classic...Skitch, we were the same year and our freshman year was the last to experience Gulli's. My brother drove up from Chicago on an hour's notice when I called to tell him Gulli's was closing forever that night. I also favored Wales on Wells.

Does Angelos give one the blows or has the restaurant taken on a Porcini's reputation?

There's a bed in the basement (may not still be there), so it's a little classier than Porcini's.

I recall going back to visit my little sister  in the mid 90's and Ziggomania was in full affect with the Drunk Window with Ziggie Burgers to go. The theme of the place was disco and sports bloopers on tv I recall.  Surprised that the next time I came back to visit it was closed.
