Title: Oklahoma Hoops Under Investigation

Why would you use a bank transfer to pay a recruit?  Is there any better paper trail?  If you are going to pay a recruit you need to use a bag of cash.

Same with steroid users in baseball.  Those dumb enough to write a check got caught and were put in the Mitchell report.  Those who paid in cash are still unknown.

You are right.  These teams should cheat smarter and more efficiently. :o

Wait, it was you, yesterday, that said this never happens at major programs........the NCAA only focuses on the little guys.

That's another irony in the people against expansion to 96 teams.  The same people that are against are also constantly railing on the NCAA for not busting more schools.  The NCAA enforcement staff is small, despite there being over 1200 schools belonging to the NCAA.

If you want more enforcement, you need MORE MONEY to hire more enforcement officers to carry it out.  The skeleton staff that the NCAA has right now is too small and that's why you often don't see some of the bigger schools (and their army of lawyers, athletic department employees, etc) getting in trouble.

Love the picture of Nick Nolte from Blue Chips. His last press conference in that movie was really a piece of work!

Cheater in this case was an agent trying to lockup Tiny Gallon to represent him with NBA.  School was not involved.  Tiny Gallon probably doesn't care, he's one and done, and about to cash in after the draft.

Another lesson to be learned regarding going after the very top high school players.

We should always focus on the best players for our program and do whatever we can to give ourselves a competitive advantage while still playign by the rules.  If that means we need to exploit loopholes in the rules then we should do so under some kind of legal counsel and hopefully it will be a benefit to the program.

I think you missed my point.  The school can do everything right, and without them having anyway of knowing, some "financial adviser" wanting to make the switch to being a player agent, gives your new recruit cash under the table, and suddenly the school is penalized for something they didn't even know about.  Some of these top kids are just time bombs for a basketball program.
