For all of you hockey fans out there, the rodents have made it to the frozen four and will be playing my hometown team the RIT tigers. Lets hope their cinderella ride continues and they beat those bums from Madison! Go Tigers :)
I'm hoping for a Boston College/RIT final. I hate Wisconsin across the board, and Miami was given an absolute gift in their game against Michigan last night. That Miami/Michigan game was the equivalent of having Jim Burr and Tim Higgins ref a college hockey game - absolute incompetence. Go Tigers! Go Eagles!
I am with you against the rodents.....but if the Huskies from St. Cloud would have beat them I would have to be totally against you....Go RIT.

Yep...growing up in Madison in the early 80s, Badger hockey was the only thing worth watching.

Hindsight is 20/20, but in the flow of the game at that point, it was technically, by rule, the right call. Nobody knows what the ref was thinking, but he could have 1) Lost sight of the puck and thus blew the play dead (which is correct on a goalie cover/or when a puck is out of side when digging along the boards) or 2) and more likely, there was a delayed penalty, thus when Miami's goalie touched the puck, which covered or not, he did many times, then the play is blown dead.
Retrospectively it looks bad as reverse angles show a live puck, etc... but most neutral fans have defended the call as the right one given the situation. In terms of Miami being given a gift, sure that call kept them in the game, but they still had to win the game, in 2OTs against the hottest team in the country. And Miami's goalie made 56 fricken saves against said team, thats pretty unreal. They deserve it as much as anyone.
As a fellow Rochesterarian I say "GO RIT!"

Of course they aren't.....they were the 15th or 16th seed in the tourney out of 16....they got hot and then two weeks later reality set in against a real hockey team.

BC completely dominates UW in the final. Article above claims the support for RIT, which was eliminated Thursday, was louder than UW fan support with its team actually playing.
Badgers just played awful.
BC is the best college hockey program in the country right now.
As much as I hate to see BC win, as I'll be hearing it from the Hockey East fans out here for a while, I have to admit that BC jsut plain beat the Badgers in every facet of the game. Congrats Eagles.
