Title: Madison Memorial
Post by: beaconwarrior on March 20, 2010, 01:16:48 AM
cruises into state final behind Vander's game-high 21.

Can Vander and his team cruise to victories next season??

God that'd be sweet...

Meanwhile, Arrowhead banks in a 3 pointer with 3 seconds left to beat Marquette by one.

Oh, and Ben Mills makes Otule look like Shaq.

Memorial looks good when they share the ball, at times they look like they need multiple  balls to share as players dont give it up.  Still hard to figure out why Vander is stuck under the bucket on the zone so much.

He looked like the team's best rebounder last night.

It's a strategy thing.  The weakest part of a 1-3-1 is that it can be attacked from corners.  So many coaches put their fastest, best defender on the bottom so that he can run from corner to corner, and prevent the offense from getting to the hoop.  In Memorial's case it doesn't usually work out that way, as Vander ends up having to face a guy in the post.

If you thought Mbao looked skinny for a 7 footer, Ben Mills looks like he is starving, literally.

I was there last night and for the people who think that we should be looking at Ben Mills just need to go see the kid in person, easy to dominate high school at that height, but he would get schooled in any major conference.
