Does anyone know offhand what Indiana's punishment was for Sampson's violations?

They hired Crean.
Yep, they got Tom Crean
Ha... that's funny. But I think there were restrictions on recruiting and my buddy thinks they took away scholarships. We are both not sure.
I'm pretty sure it was all around recruiting...in terms of off campus visits, contact with recruits, etc....it did not impact scholarships....not 100% sure.

HA... that's exactly where I am at. I know they limited some recruiting stuff but the other person (Big Ten fan) thinks they limited his scholarships. I say 'No' but I am not 100% sure. Does anyone know definitely?
They did lose a scholarship. Although, this article is from October of 2007 so I'm not sure if "next year" means 07-08 or 08-09.

EDIT: They lost a scholarship for 08-09 since the 07-08 schollies were used up by October of '07. Sorry for my lack logic, it was a long night.

EDIT: Clarification
Thanks
i beleive they lost a scholarship for a season. Then in what was an absolutely wrong they lost two more due to a bad APR score. Since IU in Crean's first year was already dealing with a very short bench an did not fill out there scholarships, they appealled to the NCAA to let them take their punishment that year instead of the next. The NCAA granted the request.
I think that was wrong. they basically let IU get away with no punishment.
They lost scholarships, they lost recruiting windows (in other words, they were only allowed to recruit in smaller windows then everyone else).
Yeah, i agree, hiring a traitor like Tom Crean seems like it is punishment enough.

Still..hardly the same as what the the Southern Methodist football team went through (as Crean would have us believe). Time to step up Crean, and stop making excuses. You're on the clock now if you don't get IU back to the tourney in 2 years.

Fred Glass, is that you?
IU should have received a greater punishment than what they did. They hired a proven scumbag in Sampson knowing full well what he brought to the table.
I think Indiana deserves everything it's getting (if not more) not because they hired TC and I want to see him fail but because they hired Sampson.

Holy Schnikees.... I can only imagine what you feel about Kentucky if this is your feelings about Indiana!
Cura Personalis always alive and well on this board when it comes to a certain coach.
