Ohhhhh man, does Kinsella drive me nuts. I know we're short on big men, and it might appear neccessary to get him some pt now (because we'll need him down the stretch, and against teams with size). BUT, oh my does he have some bad hands!!!
I will tip my hat to Mike, fore he's by far our biggest cheerleader on the bench.
Sometimes I question the thought in getting Kinsella pt over Burke. Sure Burke might be the worst free throw shooter, but he brings a higher level of intensity to the floor...not to mention better hands around the hoop.
Although it might pain me to say this, but where's Amo when you need him?
ML Carr plays over Lott because what you need out of one or both of those guys above all else is interior defense. Kinsella is easily the lesser of two evils where that is concerned - and as you point out, he may actually knock down a FT or two.
and as you point out, he may actually knock down a FT or two.
-based on what?
Based on the fact that he's a better free throw shooter then Burke?!?
Kinsella is the new Jack Haley.
Amo wouldn't ever play on this team. Give me a break.
I liked Amo, but it was clear he wasn't going to fit with the program.
We're not ever going to get anything from Kinsella. I like his attitude and willingness to do whatever Crean asks of him, but he's not a legit player at this level.
Burke is worlds better as a sophomore. Even with the FT liability.
Lott should play over Kinsella too.
Just my two cents.
Isn't that a song by Ice-T? Theme song to the movie starring Kam Taylor as Pookie
Amo would definitely get pt on this squad's team. You're telling me Lott, Burke and Kinsella are better then Amo? He has better hands, runs the floor better, and could give us some shooting help.
Listen, there's no room for people that aren't going to be 100% committed to the team...but to say Amo would never play is a massive understatement.
The game Amo had in Alaska against the GCocks is better then the combined best games of Lott, Burke, and Kinsella.
I hope Amo would play as I dont think he would fit on the bench at 280
Look, I love Kinsella's energy and his cheerleading on the bench and I really do wish him the best, that being said, I have seen armless people pick up coins with their toes with more grace than Kinsella handled the rock last night.
Lets be nice, he is a Senior and has suffered several mishaps. The guy has terrible feet. He received an incomplete grade while AMO would receive a D for slow progress.
Not trying to be negative but I think this has to be the worst senior class in how long? Forever? Seriously? If DJ stays and we replace the seniors with the freshman and Acker, wow!!!
Fuhs, I am not talking about Amo's talent-- he's clearly a more talented baller than any of our frontcourt players.
I'm saying that he didn't buy into whatever he needed to to play for TC-- so he wouldn't play on this year's team-- just like he didn't play on last year's, with the exception of one amazing game.
I loved Amo's game and wanted him to work out, but it wasn't going to happen. He's a different sort of guy.
Good for him-- but, if he stuck around (which I don't think was an option), I don't think he'd be playing at all.
Kinsella has bad hands???? How many passes did Barro drop last night. I am a fan of Ooze but he has worse hands than Kinsella
In regards to our bigs having bad hands. I wonder how much our bigs are not expecting the pass, it appears to catch them off guard. Hence that fraction of a second it takes longer for them to get ready to catch the pass results in a lot of bungled catches. So, I have to think, well, they practise all week, it seems they should by now expect the pass.
Watching Kinsella play makes me appreciate Chris Grimm a whole lot more. Better feet, better hands, and a much stronger inside defensive presence. I also hear that The Reaper is dominating in the Italian league that he's plays in.
Good to hear Grimm is having success after graduation :)
