Well, everyone was posting why doesn't Seton Hall just fire this guy... now they did!
Crean to Seton Hall.
More HUGE news should come out of Seton Hall anytime according to their boards involving a player.

Well one of them was just suspended this week for undisclosed reasons if my memory is serving me right... so probably just news about whatever he did
This is juicy. Can't wait to find out what the player did. Was it Deshawn Wynn who took a dump in his ex-girlfriends clothes hamper after she broke up with him?

A player was kicked off the team over the weekend, and according to their board did not react so well to that. His room has been cleaned out of their dorm and players are forbidden from speaking to him.
That was Najeh Davenport, and he was wasted. Like you've never done it!
ahhh right... Najeh... my apologies to Mr Wynn.
Gonzo to Iowa.
Bobby Lutz to Seton Hall.
Gonzo to insane asylum.

Are you guys talking about Robert Mitchell?
He was tossed off the team over the weekend for ripping Gonzalez in the press after they lost to Notre Dame in the BET. Maybe the "big" news is that he will be returning.

It's Mitchell, but according to their board no he won't be returning. They haven't said what he did, but those who know claim it was illegal and wrong and any other bad adjective you can think of.
Congrats to Seton Hall
That's a shame. Was hoping SHU would sign him to a lifetime deal.
No, I did not intend to put that in teal.
Seton Hall's women's coach has also resigned. Normally, I wouldn't care, but her last name is Mangina.

Cooby Snacks loves Manginas.
Congrats to SHU and their fans for getting rid of that loser even if his win-loss record alone didn't justify it.

May have been worse. Pope could have fisted the women's coach in her mangina.
P.S. Why wouldn't you just change a last name like that?
I'm guessing Nas was busy when Seton Hall's women's team came to the AL.
Long time coming for Gonzo. The place has been a shitstorm due to him for a year now.
Look for the Hall to press Danny Hurley. He wants a move up.

Smooth.
Was the armed robbery charge on his player the DAGGER for Bobby Gonzalez?
When the administration at Seton Hall reviewed BG, were there any positives to discuss. Underperforming team and scumbag coach. This was an easy one.
Awesome. Nothing else to describe it.
For years he's been coaching his kids to be thugs. It's a bad image for Seton Hall to project and not representative of what, I would imagine, the administration wants to project.

Phyllis Mangina...what a name.
A woman's basketball coach named mangina is simply too much.

Sounds like it took place in an episode of Seinfeld.
Mike Hopkins confirmed he was contacted by SH. He said he won't discuss the job until after the tournament is over.
How do you think her brother Harry feels?

Hopkins wouldn't leave SU would he? Isn't he the coach in waiting up there???
Todd Bozeman, could be his return to a major conference!

Heard he is the highest paid assistant in the BE, maybe the country. He's been offered the opportunity to interview at other programs in recent years but has turned them all down. This is def the first time he at least hasn't crap down an opportunity. Maybe the Syracuse AD wouldn't mind him getting some head coaching experience since Boeheim isn't going anywhere for awhile.

Alleged armed robbery.
Wow:
Quote from: NYPostA Pirates player, Robert Mitchell, was arrested in Newark on Tuesday and charged with kidnapping, robbery, burglary and possession of a weapon, according to a law enforcement official in Essex County. Mitchell was accused along with another person of breaking into a home in South Orange, duct-taping eight people and stealing cash and personal items. The police have not identified the other person.

I was about to speculate that they wre shutting down the few remaining athletic teams....WOAH, this ain't good.
"Police have not identified the other person."
Were the victims punched in the nuts?
With Seton Hall imploding before our eyes, perhaps DePaul won't be the doormat of the Big East next year. Seems they have the most to gain by SH's implosion.
Looks like the arrest is why Gonzo was shown the door. That and him being an assclown on the court.
QuotePatrick Hobbs, the university law school dean who has been overseeing the athletics department since July, said Wednesday that Gonzalez was let go for reasons other than his coaching record.
"Performance and success are not measured solely by wins and losses, but also in the conduct of those associated with the program," Hobbs said.
"We have expectations as to how our coaches and players will conduct themselves, and they are expected to treat everyone they interact with, whether officials, the press or our students, with the utmost respect, maturity and professionalism. Those core expectations must be met."

QuoteLooks like the arrest is why Gonzo was shown the door.
That and the fact that all three recruits for next year are not yet academically qualified. Seems he was setting the bar pretty low from both an academic and character perspective. It looks like SHU really had no other choice but to fire him.
I'm not going to miss the whiner....hated to watch his antics.
Talk about the ego on Bob Hurley as well...
"I had an unusual relationship with Coach Gonzalez," longtime St. Anthony coach Bob Hurley said Wednesday. "There never really was a comfort zone. I thought his focus was always on the New York City players and that didn't include us. I had a comfort zone with Seton Hall, sending many players there in the past, but not recently. Whoever gets the job will personality-wise be different than Coach Gonzalez. I would consider sending our players there."
Like it's your choice jag. It's no mystery that you convinced Taylor to go to Kansas, even after the solid relationship he had with Buzz. That quote should read "I'll consider selling our players to the program that offers me the most money" Slimeball.

And then some. the New York Times reports:
Also Tuesday, a Pirates player, Robert Mitchell, was arrested in Newark and charged with kidnapping, robbery, burglary and possession of a weapon, according to a law enforcement official in Essex County. Mitchell was accused along with another person of breaking into a house in South Orange, duct-taping eight people and stealing cash and personal items. deja vu
I've never seen a high school coach thrust himself into the press more than Bob Hurley. God, what an ego. By the way, Bob, did you notice the graduation rates in today's papers? MU 100 percent again. And in the tournament again.
The icing on the cake for Gonzo probably came after he protested Pope's ejection last night for punching Cohadarevic in the baby maker.

Gonzalez speaks, somehow seems even more douchey, if that was possible.

Notable:
"Right now I feel very disappointed and upset, because I feel like Monsignor in a lot of ways — as a President and a priest and person that hired me at Seton Hall and honored my (four) years — that in a way, he should be ashamed of himself."
Comments are a surprising mixed bag.
