The "Old Jumping Guy" on the jumbotron at the BC was part of the opening credits of Sportcenter tonight. (along with DJ's massive ups getting that block in the first half).
More data on him, if for no other reason than I recognize him. The jumping guy is Rick Smith, CEO of RA Smith and Associates (http://www.rasmith.com), Brookfield WI. I put myself through school at MU (partially) working for his company 1986-1991. Outstanding guy. Double majored at MU, if I remember correctly...civil engineering and business....bought a company in his early 30's...his door was always open. He bleeds blue and gold. Even during the Dukiet days, he talked mainly about MU hoops when he wasn't talking work.
Awesome that he made Sportscenter. Guy on Channel 4 sports called him "Ron Burgundy".
Jay Bilas called him Ron Burgandy as well... and told Milwaukee to "stay classy", although Im not that big of a fan of that movie (can't watch it all the way through, too stupid for me), I found it humorous
DJ's block was also number 3 on SC Top Plays
Anywhere we can see that online?
It's not part of the clip they have on espn.com for the game.
More info on Rick Smith- he has an MU flag flying outside his office bldg, right under the Stars and Stripes, on Bluemound Rd in Brkfld.
Not to mention HUGE J/S Online supporter when it comes to ads on MU stories.
I'm convinced that there isn't a single piece of obscure MU basketball info that someone on this board doesn't know after this thread. We even know all of the fan's back stories! :)
I drive by RA Smith every day on my way to work and have notice that after an NCAA loss or Wisconsin loss the flag is at half mast.

Don't want to be a nitpicker, but it was Sean McDonough that called him Ron Burgundy. It was a classic line.
think we all called him Ron Burgundy.
I did when I saw it on the screen.
Lance Allen did on the 10 pm tmj news.
good stuff.
