Per Facebook... the whole team is getting their numbers and an eagle on their head  http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/hs453.ash1/24964_369747249247_506634247_3452890_2071264_n.jpg

They just showed the haircuts on TMJ-4.  They look pretty pimp.  It'll be almost as cool as seeing Dom James completely bald last year.

I can't decide if I'd rather have this or have the guys "dancing like dawgs"

If this was another team, I'd be ripping them to shreds. I think it looks ridiculous. I get team solidarity...but this just looks silly. At least don't shave in the numbers. The feather alone might look pretty cool.

Definitely agree on Zar's jacket.

I think that's just a design actually on the side, but that's just me.

I would be ripping on us too if it were another team, but this is becoming a fun tradition for us, and I say let them live it up and be kids while they can!!  I would still be a fan of old school fros... including Frozena

The numbers look terrible.  I'm no barber, and there's no way I would have done any better, but they should have drawn numbers out on a stencil instead of just the "cutting-it-as-we-go" approach.  It just looks like a teenage girl got a hold of the clippers and went crazy - you know kind of how kids decorate a car for homecoming or a birthday.

Definitely agree on Zar's jacket.

I far prefer the shaved head look if they are going for solidarity--seems to symbolize a no b.s. get to work attitude. This is "look at me" stuff, and will make you look ridiculous if you don't bring it on the court. So, I guess they better bring it!

It's just a haircut.  The not cutting your hair was a team unity thing and that seemed to pull them together. Who knows, maybe it is something different by game time. It's not like they all got the Final Four logo tattoo'd on their neck.

Does everyone think the Badgers look foolish with all their buzzcuts?

This will garner attention just before gametime.

It'll either be "they designed their heads and then got upset by an 11 seed --- ha ha silly" or "these are fun loving college kids who really like each other and backed up their moxie by winning".

Yeah DJO's pattern for sure isn't an eagle.

This "One Shining Moment" clip would beat our usual clip of a look of frustration/disappointment each year.  Last year's was Burke.  Two years ago we got sad Barro.

My thought: if it distracts the opposition, then it's great.

No way would the Three amigos have done this. No way Wade, Diener, Novak, Merritt, Jackson would have done this.

This is the sense of "team" reaching a higher level: being comfortable around each other, doing common things only real friends and teammates would do.

I like it.

When we were in Boise last year a few of us decided to shave our heads like the team if we made it to the sweet 16 in Arizona.

I don't think my work would be pleased if I came with a monogram or pattern shaved in my head though. If I was in college though I'd be in! Doesn't look that bad on Frozena haha.

Love this year's team, and will say that if the most offensive thing they've done all year is get these CHEESY haircuts, I can live with it.  It's been a great ride, but this is flat out cheesy.  That said, I shaved my number in my head in High School, so who am I to criticize?  What's cool at 17-22, isn't at 35, I guess!!

I hope Forena gets to show it off on the court by getting some major minutes :)  That would be a good sign.....!

Agreed, Buzz needs to carve "1%" into his hair.

Judging by the pics from the flight, I think that'll be tough

Oh well, it's just college, right?  This, too, shall pass.  When they graduate and go to work at Target or Best Buy, they'll only have to wear the shirt, not etch the logo in their hair.  Plus, it sure is cheaper than large matching upper body tattoos - where do they get the money for those?  Oh, and hair is a renewable resource, besides.  (at least it is at their age...)

Hope they spend as much time in game prep as they do looking in the mirror and talking with the media about their hair designs.  They're gonna need it!  And if they get bounced in the first round, no doubt someone will say it was the Delilah effect.

Here's my report from San Jose about the hair and what Rob Frozena looks like, as well as the guys' reaction to his 'do.

Buzz--- "that they're silly."  I love that guy.

I have to say about Lazar that he makes me proud for our team. He is a well spoken individual and really represents our team well. I am proud that he is our leader and posterboy. You know he is not going to go out there and throw out 50 "uh's" or "you know what I mean" in an interview. He really personifies what MU is all about and I for one am glad that we were able to have him here for the last 4 years. He will be missed for sure.

Ha.  Guess that depends, LancesO, on what part of the post you believe is douche-y.  Elaborate for me?

I don't know, maybe the part where you state they will be working at Target/Best Buy.. Or the part where you allude to assumptions about where they get money for tattoos.

Working under the assumption that only Lazar has a chance to be drafted or a be walk-on in the NBA, all the rest will have to compete in the job market.  I know not a few college grads in this economy who are glad to have a basic job in retail - it's not unlikely at all.  The point was.. when you leave school, you don't get the chance to do stuff like the hair thing, because the job market (if you're lucky enough to even get one) takes away some of your individuality and limits your expression of team spirit.  You don't see the Target logo on employees heads.

As to tattoos, I have two of my own and I know how much they cost.. based on surface area and complexity.  No implications at all about where the money comes from.. I don't know where my 19 year old niece got her cash for one a new one either... it wasn't from my brother.  Perhaps the shop donates the work for the advertising?  College students are normally broke.  I sure was.

And yeah, rocky_warrior, I sure am!   :D

Did you put that sentence together by yourself?  I'm guessing you didn't learn how to structure a sentence at MU.

A pretty good number of former MU basketball players are playing overseas making a very good amount of $$$.
