Title: Who wins the battle of the height challenged? Acker or Thomas
Post by: ChicosBailBonds on March 14, 2010, 08:11:08 PM
Both are 5'8" listed (and neither are really 5'8" in reality).

Thomas averages 17 points per game but struggles from the perimeter.  He's fearless.  Not a shooter, but a scorer.  Barely above a 1:1 turnover to margin factor.  Dangerous player, will definitely be a tough player to handle.

Thomas.

Wright used and abused Mo. Thomas won't do the same damage, but he's an equally formidable wrecking ball.

Isn't Wright about 6'3"? What about putting Cubillan on Thomas?

FWIW, Mo's hieght is not exaggerated.  He's closer to 5'9" than he is 5'7".

Have you stood by him? I've had classes with him and i'd say he's 5'6.

Agreed, I have stood next to him while walking to class before, I am only 5'9'' and I topped him by at least 2 inches.  He is 5'7" tops.

I was next to him in Anaheim...I'd say he's 5'6" because I'm 5'7" and I towered over him.   ;)

Didn't Homer measure him on Marquette Bball show at 5'8"?

I have stood next to him (a few times) and always thought he was taller than expected.  I just figured he looks so small on the court compared to everyone else.  I'll stand corrected... I guess.   :-\

Correction:
Acker was 5'6" until he got picked by Monroe on Fri. He's just a shade over 5'4" now.

According to Buzz:

"We'll be the smallest team that you've seen in a BCS league," he said. "We start a 5-7 ½ point guard (Maurice Acker) and our center is 6-6 ½ (Lazar Hayward) with his shoes on, so we're really small.

As long as Acker wins the assist and turnover battle, we'll be fine.  I like our chances.
