Against Washington.
i like it.
GREAT MATCHUP!
HUGE.
LOVE our seed.
Couldn't possibly have asked for better!
SCHWING!!
YESSSSSSSS!!!!!!
I called the 6!!!!!! Yes!!!!!!
Wash is legit. Let's beat them!
77Champs has to be excited
Who's coming from the California contingent?
Maybe we can stop with all of the talk about the selection committee screwing over Marquette every year.
This is a great seed. Let's take care of business against Washington and then see if we can upset New Mexico.
:D
I'm ALREADY there! Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!
wooooooo hoooooooooooooo
love it.
after feeling hosed most years it feels to good to get higher than i expected.
Great seed.
Agreed... I think this is a decent path for us given some of the other potential roads. Do I dare say we should make it to the Sweet Sixteen??!?!?

Do you have tix? My son and I may be coming up, contemplating now. PM me
Seth Davis says we beat New Mexico. Gonna be fun!
Dude... I am not sure if I could have picked a better draw. Hells yes.
Looks like a good bracket as well!
Decent matchup... they don't have bigs galore. They are a good defensive team but not great. At first glance I like this matchup.
Decent matchup...I'm just worried about that potential matchup with the Badge
Love it more. However I don't know how good Washington is nor New Mexico. Anyone?
Excited but we need to live up to it. UDub is playing their best ball. I saw them lose to Gtown BUT contend.
Lots of Purple and Gold are going to be in the house.
We can quit whining about getting shafted because it sure didn't happen. Couldn't have asked for a better draw.
Suck it Lunardi
So stoked! We're gonna burn Wash and New Mexico. They're both overseeded. Sweet 16!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111!!!!!!!!!!!
Im going -- yes!
You all had me sooo worried we were going to see Kansas on Saturday I don't even care. I've said it for the last month, we can beat just about anybody except a select few teams. This is outstanding for us. Now gotta take care of BIZZZZZZNESS.
Or......BUZZZZZZZZZZNESS
Pleasantly surprised today. DIG!
This is the 1st time that I can remember where we weren't screwed on our seeding!!!! I actually think we may have gotten better than we deserved. NICE GO MU!!!
ND just got in with a 6 seed.
I am shocked. I expected we would get screwed. Great possible second round matchup with New Mexico..
WE drew a tough #11
Washington will have huge court advantage -- similar to Stanford in Anaheim
Big East respected by the committee. 1,2,2,3,3,6,6,9.
What city are we in and which day? I missed that part
San Jose Thursday
i am there - just need tix :)
Time?
can't complain about drawing a tough 11 or even playing against a west coast school out in CA. we could have very easily been an 8 or 9 seed.
Wow. This is a gift. Legit shot to make the sweet 16. It would be more fun to play Bucky to get to F4.
I'm a student from Sacramento, but unfortunately I didnt want to spend for airfare and am staying in Chicago for break. :-[
Thankfully, I will be making sure my parents and friends take the three hour drive South. I know we have plenty of alumni in California, we may even be able to outsell Washington!

Time?
Find out tomorrow. Obviously won't be before 2:00 or so Central though.

Yup, that's the one thing that sucks. They will definitely have the home court advantage. The Bay Area has the third largest alumni base for UW.
After years of playing UW-Madison, I'm just glad we are finally playing the real UW.
This is great! I was hoping we'd get screwed on seeding to get out of an 8/9 game but this works even better.
I selected San Jose as one of my sites when I filled out the form we rec'd as season tix holders. based on my points, I would assume that I will get my tix. Brother-in-law lives out there so that's why I included that site. The rest were driving distance so I chose them, too.
Did anyone else who filled out their form get anything other than the normal confirmation? I want to book my airfare asap.
Also, when we will know the times?
Seth Davis has us as a surprise...I agree with him looking at the draw!!! GO MU
Don't know alot about Washington...but...think we got as good of bracket as we could possibly hope for...Is there another 3 seed we would have rather faced other than NM? I want no part of Baylor, Pitt, or Georgetown. And if you want to go crazy..WVU would be a nice rematch to get to the Elite 8. How awesome would it be to face Bucky to go to the Final Four..and beat them?

Hell yes. It's happening. Bucky vs. MU for the Final Four.
Pomeroy ratings:
MU: 28th
Washington: 29th
New Mexico: 47th
Just looking at Washington's ESPN page, I was surprised to see that their best player, Pondexter, is an undersized forward (6'6") like Lazar and their star guard, Thomas, is only listed at 5'9". I like our chances.

There is no way Wisconsin gets past Kentucky

Just regular confirm, but given the distance you will probably get tickets. If you are in the lower bowl almost guaranteed (of course I would wait - expect an email from MU later tonight).
where are the regionals for our bracket?
I think it's in Syracuse, if I'm reading my bracket right.

Syracuse. Nice because we've been there. Not nice because it's one coast to the other if we make the Sweet 16. Also nice for WVU; though they haven't been there this year they're already up in Buffalo later this week.
I love this seed! We match up great with them in so many ways. Pondexter like stated before is on par with Lazar, Mo is tiny like Thomas, and they have their own player with a hyphenated last name in Matthew Bryan-Ammaning. This is looking sweet.

Warning - doom and gloom alert.
I think MU either wins zero games or they win two games.
My initial pass at a prediction has us losing by three to Washington, before taking into consideration any home court-ish advantage. Our results will be highly dependent on how well we shoot from behind the line. More later.

Nothing like peeing on one's parade, RL. ;D
My complaint about our #11 draw is that they are the Pac Ten champs and Notre Dame got Old dominion which is a gift. All in all I should be happy to be a #6.

OD is good. I think OD has a good chance to win that game. Pac Ten was one of the worst conferences in the country. Washington had to win the tourney to make it. Washington is not that good. Essentially, we are playing a team that is worse than IL, Seton Hall, and every other bubble team. I'll take that
I think this is a great draw for MU. This is the first year in a long time that I felt MU got a better seed than my expectations.
A great positive for MU, as mentioned, is that neither Washington (#192 in effective height according to Ken Pom) or New Mexico (#143) is a team with a lot of size. Obviously MU can struggle immensely against teams with a lot of height (see GT and Cuse beatdowns).
However, both UW and NM are deep teams. Wash has 10 guys that average over 10 minutes while NM regularly has 8 guys get significant minutes. MU has 6 days to rest up so hopefully fatigue won't be an issue at all, especially in the first game.

This is very interesting...I trust Pomeroy a lot...this said, I predict whoever wins between MU and Washington will beat New Mexico.

Pomeroy favors MU to win by the slightest of margins, with a 51% chance of winning and MU winning by one point. Lets hope Mr. Pomeroy is right again :)
Props to Doris Burkes Thong who consistently said we would get a better seed than expected. Great draw, i hope Pomeroy is wrong about the margin of victory and we win by double digits. Cant take another close game.
Vegas has our game as a Pick'em. That's why I tend to think UW should have been seeded lower, as their numbers are nearly identical to MU, yet they are 5 seeds lower.
Other 6/11s:
Tenn is 4.5 over SDSU
Xavier is 1 over Minn
ND is 4 over ODU
I hope our game is close. Believe Buzz when he says our margin is zero. Don't like the other possible scenerio which could resemble the BET game vs. Georgetown.

I'm not sure, but I think we have to win a game on Thursday before any of this other stuff can happen. Coach Romar is no slouch.
