Title: ESPN Coverage
Post by: GuamanianTerror on March 11, 2010, 10:13:04 AM
Has anyone else noticed that ESPN has given NDU and Harangody way too much attention these past two days? It is ridiculous the number of articles they are running on a middle tier program. And this is not just Digger. Gottlieb is on the bandwagon too.

And you do not think the wins they have racked up the last two weeks are not huge? They have played their way into the NCAA by getting some pretty impressive wins, with and without Gody. They have  more quality wins than we do, thats for sure. Not to mention, they won in Milwaukee.

They played absolutely NOBODY in the non-conference portion (losing to Loyola Marymount) of their schedule, and finished below us in the Big East portion.  They may have a couple of nicer marquee wins in the BEast, but that also means they lost to some lesser teams in the BEast that we didn't lose to (despite us losing to DePaul).  If ND doesn't go any further than MU in this tournament, I can't see how they could get a higher NCAA seed than MU.

Digger has them as a 5/6. That is laughable if it weren't so damned pathetic.

They also get better announcers for their game. I'd much rather hear Bilas' analysis and the occasional ONIONS! out of Rafferty.....

MU didn't beat anybody and lost to the worst team in the conference...a team that didn't win any other BE game.

ND has more quality wins and no losses as bad as DePaul.

I don't know if they'll get a higher seed, but you can make the argument they deserve it.

I have Marquette as a one seed in my bracket. See, I can see the world through blue and gold-colored glasses too.

Gottlieb is anti-big east so I cannot agree with the statement that he has jumped on the bandwagon.  Yesterday he was saying that if you took away WVU and Cuse, the Big East is just an average conference.  He said that the ACC is a better conference with the likes of G'Tech and Wake Forest.  When Jay Williams started getting into it with him about that statement, the other guy on the show asked Gottlieb this.... "Would you be surprised to see any of the teams in the Big East besides WVU or Cuse make the Final Four?"  Gottlieb replied "No".  Then, the guy asked the same question about any ACC teams besides Duke and Gottlieb paused, knowing where this was going and said "Yes".  Then the guy said "Well I thought that you said the ACC was better than the Big East and Gottlieb replied "Well.... I didn't say that.....".  Haha the guy is a total tool and just likes to try and be different which is why not many people like him since he makes sense about 2% of the time.  I wouldn't take anything he has to say seriously....
