Title: BET Day 2 Standouts and Flops
Post by: mj2345 on March 11, 2010, 08:19:41 AM
Good article on players that stood out and how it relates to their NBA draft stock.  Some good press for Lazar.

Have a read.

I'd love to see Hayward get a shot. I could see him compared to somebody like Quentin Richardson who's had a lengthy career. Hayward's big weakness is putting the ball on the floor.

Q was a Dolphin teammate of Cordell's at Whitney Young. That team had some talent.

At the time, many here were crossing their fingers that Q and Cordell were coming to MU as a package deal. That team also had Dennis Gates, who I believe played at Cal, and a young Najeeb Echols, who started at Mizzou then transferred to Illinois State.

IIRC they were the first team to win State AA in bball after Peoria Manual's 4 year run.

Yesterday's ESPN announcers compared 'Zar to wesley matthews and how much his talents would translate to the NBA. they were very complementary despite halftime pronouncement by the talking heads that there are no NBA players on MU
