We've got to block out under defensive basket...yikes and if we don't shoot well over the arc!

Well I heard that King on Nova is out for the Big East Tourney, he is their 6th man. Plus Nova hasn't been playing particularly well either.

The question is who has improved more as a team since early January? Us or them?

Defensively we have improved immensely.  Offensively, I feel like we have regressed a bit.  Our O goes stagnant for 4-5 minute stretches too often of late.  Further, we haven't been attacking the basket near enough.  I think part of that is Buycks being out recently......and I also think DJO has hit somewhat of a wall in his first long Big East season as he doesn't seem to attack nearly as much as he used to.

The other thing to consider is the fact that MU has changed its tempo greatly from the first 2x they have played Villanova.  Buzz was still feeling his way with the team early in conference play.  He has gone with a much slower tempo as of late along with much more of a containment defense.  MU will likely try to keep the game in the 60s tomorrow as opposed to running right alont wiht Nova as in the past.

I agree that we've been playing at a painfully slow pace lately (mostly due to competition that keeps it even slower), though Buzz himself said the reason for some of the clock-milking in the first Nova games was because we couldn't keep up with them, so it was definitely never our intention to run with them.  Whether we now take that to a Notre Dame level and make the game boring as hell, I don't know.

I dont think it would ever get that extreme.  And I agree the opponents lately have magnified.  But because of size and depth Buzz seems to be targeting mid to upper 60s instead of high seventies.  Im sure that will change again next year.  IMO its just smart coaching.  he didnt want to wear his team out.

FWIW, Villanova is favored by 4.5 over MU.  Time for an upset!

I'm probably jinxing this a lot and he will have a great game tomorrow, but I haven't really seen much of anything from King that this makes any difference to me. I remember at Duke he was a lights out shooter, but it seems he may have bulked up some to play down low some more and lost his shot because he has bricked a lot of 3's when I watched this.
