Title: Neutral or Away?
Post by: Ready2Fly on March 10, 2010, 09:19:34 AM
Pomeroy has this as an away game for MU tonight... interesting.

Would this count as a road game RPI-wise as well?  Or just neutral since it's a tournament setting?

Neutral.  St.Johns might have a bigger crowd today, but the Big East tournament draws fans from all schools including local New Yorkers with no school affiliation that simply want to enjoy a great tournament atmosphere.  Regardless, all this RPI/SOS stuff is essentially determined already.  Winning today won't do much for MU, but if they can manage to then beat Villanova, seed improvement for the NCAA could be a real possibility.

Pomeroy has a point.  This is essentially St. John's home court.

I've got to put this one down as a pretty much solid road game.  Would St. John's consider a 2nd round conf. tourney game at the Bradley Center neutral?

For RPI purposes, its a home game for St. Johns and a road game for MU.

This was the case last year as well.
