Title: Marquette Autographs
Post by: MUFanatic5 on March 07, 2010, 09:11:07 PM
I will be attending Marquette next year and had a few ?'s.

1.) How is the team and Buzz about signing autographs? Anyone have any funny stories about asking players for autographs at games, on campus, etc...

2.) Where can u find images/photos of the team? Marquette Images wants like $20 per 8x10.

3.) And do any players sign autographs on gameday to/from the tunnel by the student section.

Thanks everyone and Go Marquette!!!

1.) I think the best opportunity is following Marquette Madness or Haunted Hoops.  The team is usually around after the practice to sign.

2). You can find 8" x 10"'s of the star players on E-Bay.  I recommend buying a small 9" basketball from the spirit shop and getting it signed in silver or blue sharpie.  Every year they have a new Marquette design.  I have a small b-ball signed from the last 5 teams by going to MU Madness.

3.) No.  Don't bother the players on gameday.

2.) Also at Marquette Madness they have a team poster every year that looks very nice autographed.

IMO the best time to get autographs is the haunted hoops.  After the scrimmage the players wait on the court and all have sharpies.  Many bring photos, balls, etc. to be autographed.  Little shaq  has gotten in the habit of having each player sign their picture on the preseason posters which I have laminated and hung in our MU shrine in the basement.  We've got quite the sweet collection going.  Autographs from everyone the last few years and my kids love the games prior to the haunted hoops scrimmage.

I'm not sure if they did it this year, but 2 years ago in October they went to Soldier Field where you at dinner with the players (one sits at your table). Anyhow if they still do it they give you posters and have no problem signing autographs.

Welcome to MU. If you have any questions about the school or general college life feel free to post them in the superbar.

Some friendly advice...you have no business asking a classmate for their autograph. You're in college now.

I don't see the big deal in asking players for autographs.  I wouldn't have a problem asking some of the players to sign the team poster.  My older brother went to Marquette and one year he gave me the team poster from Madness signed by all the players.  It was an awesoe gift, I still have it.  I would be flattered if someone asked for my autograph.

It's cool as long as it's in the setting set up for autographs (Madness, BBQ, etc.).  Not in or around class.

Sorry. Once you reach junior high it's not "cool" to ask for autographs, especially people you go to school with.

You should have seen the two middle-aged autograph hawkers outside the Blue & Gold room on Saturday clamoring for the ND players' autographs.  I bet between the two of them, they've had one girlfriend in their combined 80+ years of life.  I could have sworn that one was trading acne fighting tips with Abromaitis.

Unless you're Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons, don't ask for autographs unless you're at an event specifically set up for that purpose.

Whatever.  I don't do it, but it's a hobby.  BFD.

Look at all of us and our lame asses hang out here all day hypothesizing and obsessing about random tall people on MU's campus, cursed jerseys, a middle-aged white dude dancing to jump around, a coach that left our program nearly two years...
