in the seeding. The 5th place team in the league is a lock, no question about it. Where the RPI , SOS and all the other subjective elements will impact us is in the seeding and where we go. If we lose to UCONN Wednesday, be prepared to be travel far and be a 12 seed.
i would love nothing more than to get a 10/11 seed and play a northern iowa, ODU or even Butler type team. Then in the second round ill take any 3 seed along with most of the 2 seeds. Lets win a bunch in the BET and move into that 6/7 spot or end up 10/11.......no 8/9
I say again what I said in the other thread: I don't think so. Look around the country, not just at our ups and downs and those of other BE teams. Teams like Ole Miss, St. Mary's, Cal, San Diego State, Old Dominion, Dayton, and Rhode Island have little or no opportunity to pass us up in seeding even if we lose to UConn or St. John's (considering UConn has nothing to play for and has been playing like that even though they had something to play for, I think SJU as a potential opponent is a fair mention). On the other hand, we might have to win 2-3 in the BET to pass up a slew of teams who are pretty much locks for 5-8 seeds. There just isn't the wiggle room away from the 8-10 seed that everyone thinks there is based on how we do in 1-2 more games.

Our placement in the league really doesn't matter. What matters is our record, or SOS and our RPI. Don't get me wrong, I think we are definitely in, but I honestly don't think our placement in the standings matter.

Butler is trying to hand over a bid
I was wondering if I should start a topic on it: "Why am I watching UWM try to upset #11 Butler?"
haha no need looks like Butler is going to wrap it up. Hopefully they come to play on tuesday against wright state as well.
There is always one team that gets a ROYAL snub! If we lose in the first round of the BE tournament, it could be us. If we win, we are in and there will be absolutely no questions about it.
We just dont have a marquee win whatsoever. So many fans like to hang their hats on "close losses," but who cares. The committee cares about wins and losses. The only reason some like to talk about the close losses is because there isnt much else to talk about. Fact!

We'll start to know in the next few days, but no "stolen" bids so far.

Give it a rest. We're in. Might need some anti-anxiety medication for that paranoia. Ten teams aren't going to pass us up based solely on how we perform in 1/31 of our body of work, and if you take a look around the country that's how many are currently "in" with worse resumes. And no, they aren't out to get us.

Try this on for size:
MU is 0-5 against the RPI Top 10 with 5 losses by a combined 17 poin
MU is 2-1 against the RPI Teams 11-20
MU is 9-3 against RPI Teams 10-100..with the 3 losses being Florida State by 1, Notre Dame in OT, an Wisconsin on the road.
I'd say 9-3 against the RPI 10-100 is something to talk about. Fact!
