Recap: Louisville
Player of the game: On a night the Marquette Golden Eagles might very well have caved in to the pressure of playing without both Lazar Hayward and Jimmy Butler for significant portions of the game early on due to foul trouble, Joe Fulce stepped into the breach and delivered another great performance.
The junior forward came off the bench to score 11 points and grab six rebounds in 18 minutes, providing a steadying hand while at the same time keeping the gas pedal to the floor with the Louisville Cardinals on the ropes.
Fulce had a breakaway dunk and a baseline jumper early in the first half, and then helped break the game open early in the second after Butler picked up his third by scoring seven straight points on a three-point play, a layup and a pair of free throws.

Quote"I'm so happy for Joe," said coach Buzz Williams. "I've known Joe since he was a freshman in high school and I was an assistant at Colorado State. He's the only player that's ever signed a national letter of intent at three different institutions. He signed them because of my relationship with him. For him to have endured what he did last year...I'm really mean to him.
"But I really love him, and he knows that. For him to play 18 minutes and have 11 points and six rebounds in a game of the magnitude of this, when we're old, we'll be talking about it."
Fulce sticking with Buzz, and Buzz sticking with Fulce says a ton**. Both of them could have said "thanks, but no thanks" for many reasons -- but it's great to see it finally coming together for both of them.
** - Apologies to Chicos and 84, I know, Fulce is really a Crean recruit....RIGHT...
Is Samuels really 6'9?? Didnt look any taller than jimmy to me, just wider.

I'm just so upset that he acted like a douche and brought him to MU from Texas A&M...I mean, what a douche move when a coach steals other team's players.
LOL
PS I love Fulce. One of my favorite players, hope you know I'm being sarcastic above and it's not intended at you

Fulce will be a solid contributor for the rest of the year, and a major contributor at the 4/5 next year. Not going to average double figures in anything, but he will earn plenty of minutes. He's really come around. Rebounding was never an issue, but he's improved even more, and he's playing better all around on both ends.
