Down by as much as 22....down 18 versus WV with 13.00 to play. Sheesh.
They're third-to-last in all of D1 basketball in bench minutes. They simply can't afford to lose a player, much less one as important as Freeman.
There has been a lot of talk in the COY discussions about getting the most out of your players. I know that JT has a recent final four but his teams over the last 2 years seem to way underperform given the level of recruited talent.

Monroe, Freeman, Clark and Wright. All of them McDonalds AA.
Thompson and Vaughan, both I believe were five star recruits.
Underachieve? Yes.
I think they underutilize Monroe. Need to get him the ball more, he can go to the rim, but he is probably the best passing bigman in country.

Close, but if statsheet is correct, Clark wasn't a McDonalds AA, and neither he nor Thompson or Vaughan were consensus 5-star recruits (#62, 76, 66 respectively). Still a crapton of talent.

OK splitting hairs here, three McD AA's. I was close, thought Clark was. Thompson was a five star and Vaughan a four. Hope everyone just got my point. That my friends is a loaded squad, well rounded with bigs and guards.
they are slipping late this year with their shallow bench but all i know is if Monroe for some reason stays another year, they will be a dangerous scary team next year returning everybody.
So the Gtown loss tonight pretty much clinches the Big Dance for MU
Georgetown is fading fast! I still cannot believe that Lunardi has them as a 4 seed. They had some earlier season success, but are not playing that well now.
How the hell can a team that is 9-8 in Conference (and could end up 9-9) still be a 4 seed? Ridiculous!!!!
I've got to hand it to Gtown though. They made it a game at the end with a pretty solid comeback. WVU held strong, but at least it wasn't a 30 point blowout that it looked like it was going to be.
