I haven't been following the polls this much this year, but wasn't Texas number 1 at one point? I mean...recently?

Texas was #1 for 1 week when they were still undefeated. They have made a free fall since then and have fallen, slowly, down and now out of the rankings.
WOW. We have a legit shot to finish the regular season in the top 25!

Crazy right? We also would have been in the top 25 for at least a week had we beaten Florida State. I almost don't want us to be ranked heading into the tournament... it might keep a chip on our shoulder.
barring a deep BE tourney run, I think you'll get your wish.
Four total votes:
One vote from Jon Wilner at #12.
One vote at #21.
Two votes at #25.
Interestingly, Rosiak was one of the voters who put MU at #25. Before you go calling him a homer, keep in mind that he has pretty consistently ranked MU below the consensus over the past couple years. This is the first time I can remember that he's been higher than the consensus.
Its a joke that they aren't ranked. Can someone please explain how you can win 8 of 9 in the best conference in America and not be ranked? What a joke.
We would be if not for DePaul. That one hurts in so many ways.

A) Didn't beat anyone ahead of us in conference except Georgetown, and even they are now behind us.
B) We have 9 losses, which would be the highest of any ranked team. In fact, only 2 teams have 8.
We really are not Top 25 at this moment. I think if we can take the last two regular season games, and some teams from 20 - 25 lose, we might slip into the Top 25 just because.
But, one game at a time. Louisville will be a very, very tough game for us. Let's beat 'em!
GO MARQUETTE!!!!
Interesting fact that I actually cannot believe, but true.
Syracuse has not been rated #1 since the 1989-90 season. Thats 20 years.
Who was number 1 after they won in it all in 2003?

Exactly and thats why I couldn't believe. Maybe it's an "in-season" thing, as opposed to final poll.
Is there actually a poll after the torunament?
I believe there is for the coaches poll but not the AP poll:

We have never been more deserving of a top 25 ranking than we are right now. We have won 8/9 games in one of, if not THE, toughest conference in college basketball. Look at teams like Cornell and Northern Iowa who won a bunch of games in a row in crappy conferences earlier this year and were ranked. Having said that, I would rather fly under the radar...

I know a loss IS a loss, but have people forgotten that we were beaten by a last second shot?
Jus' sayin...
Shouldn't of come down to that or even been close. Extremely ugly loss to a pathetic team this year.
It's no wonder why I have more grey hairs. MU'S 9 losses have been for a combined 32 points.. Then throw in all the close games that they're now winning, Oy vey.
A few grey hairs is well worth it for the unbelievable season MU has given us. This season trumps any of the three amigo's for my enjoyment.

We got a win or two w/a last second shot. What goes around......
