Lunardi has us down to an 11 seed against Maryland in New Orleans. Potential 2nd round matchup with Vandy. I'd take that.
He still has UK & Purdue playing in MKE.
hmmm....I thought we were a rising 10 last week. we win and we are an 11? go figure.
I would rather play Vanderbilt first... what an overrated 3 seed. They don't play that good of "D" which plays right into our hands. Offensively they are very good but we would be able to score on them.
Why don't we get respect in bracketology?, we were a 10, we won 3 straight OT games on the road, and we are penalized for it? Makes no sense to me.. we should be rising not falling. Although I do really like the matchup with Maryland and the potential matchup with vandy.
Louisville is an 8. CT a 12 and we are an 11???
This bracket make little sense. notre Dame is getting in over Uconn
Just a so called experts opinion, take it for what its worth. That being said, if this was reality I'd like our shot at making a run deep into the tourney. MU vs Maryland would be a good game and if we could get by them Vandy doesn't strike much fear into me.
This is why I don't look at the bracketology stuff until after all regular season conference games are played.
Way too many permutations possible.
Lunardi is fun to track but these guys are the best in the business.
They have MU as an 8.

RPI and SOS are not favorable to MU. That is why we will end up with a higher seed.

Yeah, but I like the Maryland then Vandy matchup better.

I don't - I like the Cal/Duke matchup 101 gives us - best we can hope for as an 8 seed.

The 8/9 seed is very bad! I think we can compete with any team in the nation except for the 1 seeds, Syracuse excluded.

I think we would be able to compete with Duke. I know they have gotten much better, but if G'Town can compete with them Im sure MU could as well. Kansas and Kentucky, not so much
Jumping ahead a bit, but I'm rooting for MU to somehow find a way to get into the 6/11 game some how (or 5/12 game).
For MU to get up to a #6, they'd have to sweep this week, and get one or two BET wins (probably 2). As bad as it might seem, I'd settle for going 1-1 this week, and a loss in MU's first BET game, if it meant getting an 11 seed.
If MU's going to make it out of the first weekend, I think that's the seed line they have to wind up at.
Gotta get through seeds 9 and 8 to get to seeds 7 and 6...
Not buying his seeding. He has Looserville 8, Georgetown 4 and Xavier 6.
We beat both Georgetown and Xavier. We are higher in Conference than Georgetown. We should be higher.
UCONN is currently 7 and 9 in BE play. I am presuming he is figuring they win their next two to go 9-9 in conference. But, right now they should be out and playing themselves in.

IMHO, this is the best website out there for brackets. Has MU as a 10.
Cuse - 1
Nova/WVU - 2
Pitt/GU - 3
UL - 9
MU - 10
Conn - 12

Might be a forced line correction to solve some kind of conflict (two conference teams playing each other, location avoidance, who knows). Our SCurve spot is exactly the same as on Friday, 40, which is the very last 10 seed. And UConn has drifted into the top 50 of the RPI to help us out.

Well, let's not forget all three teams were below us in the standings. All good wins, but no eye opening wins. That's one thing that is hurting MU in the RPI right now as well.
We're 0-5 against teams above us. 10-1 against teams below us

Um..Well by that logic Syracuse and Nova suck because they haven't beat anyone above themselves either. When your 5th in the conference it makes it tougher to beat a team ahead of you.

Life at the top is a b*tch, huh? :D
Below is a question to Joe Lunardi on his live chat:
Last week Marquette was a rising 10. After a week when they improved their Big East record with two overtime road wins to 10-6, why would they drop to a declining 11?
Joe Lunardi (3:40 PM)
Marquette is not actually falling. Last week they were a 10 bumped up (procedurally) to an 11. Today was the other way around. It happens, especially with so many other Big East teams in the field.
You're welcome, all!
I haven't really seen it mentioned and haven't seen many of their games, but without Hummel how well do we match up with Purdue? Seeing as they are a 2 seed here and could be a 3, if we get the 10 or 11 seed I'm sure we could play them in the second round if we get that far. I know they have a pretty athletic center in Johnson and Hummel was very good, but don't know much else about them.
