With the win of SHU Marquette clinched a bye in the First Round of the Big East tourny!
Wow, who woulda thunk it. Heart, man they have heart.
awesome, im so glad we are finally winning the close ones. With the near collapse in ot we lose early in the year.
No collapse. Hazell finally warmed up. Only mistake was fouling the 3 pt shooter.
WV still has to play Gtown at home and away at Villanova, they lose both and we win both we may get the #4 seed. Doesn't that get us a 2nd round bye as well?

Actually, MU could still end up in 9th place, I believe!
Only 6 teams have clinched more than 8 losses, and we win tiebreaker with UConn which would move us into 9th,
not 8th!

We could actually end up in
third. all that would have to happen is:
a) we win out -- why not? (Yeah, I'm, gettin' greedy.)
b) West Virginia loses out --- could happen! AND
c) Pitt loses out --- Ain't gonna happen!
Both UWV and Pitt would have to lose out since each has the tie breaker over us and stays ahead if the records are the same.

Ahhh! So either ND or UConn will have nine losses, and we are guaranteed to finish no worse than 8th (if ND beats UConn) or 7th (if UConn beats ND, due to tiebreaker with UConn)
COOL
Never so glad to be shown to be wrong!
Correct. 7 teams now have nine or more losses (Hall, USF, Cincy, SJU, Rutgers, PC, DePaul), and the UND/UConn loser will be the 8th.
Too bad UConn couldn't pull one out against Louisville...
