Title: Cubie
Post by: nycwarrior on February 28, 2010, 12:35:33 PM
Seems like going home helps some guys to play stronger. Cubes seems to feel at home tonight near where he played HS ball at St Ben's in Jersey.

I don't remember ever seeing Cubie finish at the rim the way he has so far today. And the series where he emerged from the scrum under the SHU basket with the rebound and then threaded the needle ahead to Fulce for a lay-in.

Looks like a different guy.

Which makes me wonder even more why he keeps hucking up threes when he hasn't made one today.

I think his drives today have been more a product of bad defense. He dribbles the ball with his head down until he gets stopped, and earlier Seton Hall was just letting it go.

As mentioned, his threes are getting a solid chunk of rim everytime. Just clanks thus far. Not fun to watch in the least bit, especially when the other possesions are ending in layups.

Someone has to tell him to drive or pass.  He is single handedly keeping Seton Hall in the game.

Since we started 6-6 on 3s, Cubes is 1-5 and Hayward is 0-5.  Cubillan is shooting 4-6 inside the line.

I'm surprised he's been shooting as much as he has today and wish more were falling, but I'll never understand why he attracts so much negative attention from you guys.
