Maybe premature, but ideally I don't want MU to win out, and then win a game in Big East tourney. Would like to see us finish 2-1, and then lose our first game in Big East tourney for 2 reasons:
1) More rested for NCAA tourney
2) Should keep us in the 11-12 seed range, though would not be surprised to see MU seeded as high as an 7-8 with finishing 2-1 and losing in Big East tourney
Would much rather be an 11 or 12 - as I think we can beat any 5 or 6 seed, and then from a 2nd round game perspective we get a 3 or 4 seed...as opposed to drawing a Number 1 seed if we win our first round game as an 8 or 9 seed. Thoughts?
anywhere but 8-9. although the only number 1's that truly scare me are kentucky and kansas. just too big for us.

A seed would be nice period.
Preferred seed for NCAA tourney = #1

This is what I was going to say.
I have no idea why everyone on this board thinks we are only capable or probable to win one game in the BE Tournament.
Personally, I expect 2.
Nice work on the Hoosier's image, and thought process...and yes, I do just hope we get in NCAA. An interesting angle would be: What if we lost to Seton Hall and Notre Dame, but beat Lousiville? Puts us 10-8 in Big E and 19-11 overall. Do we get in?
I just do not want an 8/9, i gag a little just think about the terrible things Kentucky and Kansas would do to us. It honestly would not be fair.
Hell, Hickory went all the way. Why can't we?

I think this situation would then come down to how we perform in the Big East tournament.
We need two more wins at this point it does not matter who, or where they come. We could win two out of three and lose our first tourney game, lose two out of three and win one in the tourney or lose the next three but win 2 in the tournament. It doesn't matter, we just need two more.
PS. If we lose the next three and then win two in the Big East tournament I might stroke out.
There is a reason why 12 seeds get into the sweet 16 so often. Any team outside the top 10 has had its ups and downs. Playing a 5 isn't much different from playing a 6 or a 7. Its a winnable game as is the 4 seed and often the 4 gets beat by the 13 so you're playing an even easier game. So I'd rather be a 12 than a 10 or 11 because the second game is more of a fair fight. Like others have said the 8/9 is the real kiss of death because the 1 awaits and they never get up beat in the first round.
I'd like to have a 10, 11, or 12 seed. They are the most dangerous. Theres not a 5, 6, or 7 seed out there I dont think we can beat.
We are not going to lose again this season, so why are we discussing this?
Let's just get in...I don't care where we are seeded, just get in. After that, it's a crap shoot.
The problem this year with getting an 8 or a 9 is as I was thinking about this the other day, there is only 1 possible #1 seed MU could play in the second round(at least if the tourney were seeded today). That would be Kansas. Yikes!!! Why?? Kentucky as a #1 will most likely be in Milwaukee, MU can't play there obviously. Same with Purdue(prior to the Hummel injury). MU couldn't play Syracuse(well they could with the rules now, but unlikely), so that leaves only Kansas, in Oklahoma City. Ummmmm, no thanks.
Whichever one where we can play Purdue in the second round.
could play duke as they may get the number 1 now that purdue should drop. i would take that matchup.
Just give me Northern Iowa, Butler, or New Mexico. If we have to play a 1 or 2 seed, let it be Duke.

Totally agree! We'd be a tough out against any 5,6 or 7.
i would love nothing more than to get a mid major team as our 5 or 6 if we are an 11 or 12

Purdue without hummel would not be a terrible draw either, but id still prefer 12/5 or 11/6 match up. But no need to get greedy, lets just get in.

It depends on how they look the last few games without Hummel (and what the committee decides to do with them seeding-wise). They barely beat Minnesota after he went down in that game, so who knows. But yeah, just getting in is all I care about at this point. One game at a time.
