Can anyone post a link to Homer's call of Butler's game winning shot against SJU? It has to be stupendous.
"Oh baby that was sweet!" Gotta love Home Team.
OH BABY!
thanks for posting that! I love Homers genuine enthusiasm about Marquette basketball
his end game call wasn't the highlight either. When MU called the timeout with 22 ticks left and they broke for commercial, Homer said something like 'and Marquette calls me a timeout, because i need a break!' Classic, and you can just tell how much he is putting into the games.
At least he puts preparation and excitement into something cuz he blows chunks as a radio host and is barely above average as a game-caller.
That said, I was thinking today I'd like to hear how he called it.
I like his radio show.
Butler was stripped, chased down a loose ball, turned and knocked it down from 17 feet. Homer says he "drives baseline." I did not see the "driving" part of the game winning sequence. The description of the action was inaccurate, but the ebullience in his voice was palpable.
listen to it again...he says Bulter drives...

He said "Butler
tries baseline."
"The Butler did it!"
I also like Mac's hilariously disheveled reaction.
That is good. He probably thought Butler drove baseline from where they had them seated. It isn't quite as good as the Brian Wardle shot against Louisville during the Mike Deane era. He came un freaking glued for that one. I love Homer.
