Title: Jamie Dixon coach of the year?
Post by: skianth16 on February 19, 2010, 12:58:29 AM
I had been talking with some people the other day about Buzz being a lock for COY in the conference because of what he has accomplished this year. After seeing ANOTHER second half collapse tonight, though, I'm beginning to doubt my argument. I have a feeling Dixon might come away with it after showing Buzz up big time tonight in the half time adjustment department.

Wasn't MU down at half? Didn't they start out the second with a 7-0 run? Id say if there was any outcoaching done it was an entire game thing, although Id put this one more on the players than the coach... There were multiple times where Buzz looked like he didnt know what else to do to get those guys going

To answer your question- Dixon is very deserving, but I do not think he is as deserving as Boeheim, esp if Syracuse wins the conference

I'm not saying Buzz should be COY...but...

We were down 6 at half, and lost by 7.  If that's proof that Dixon makes better half time adjustments than Buzz, then I think you're the one that's confused.

we had a great run to start the half, but how many consecutive possessions did they have uncontested dunks / layups? I think you can put two, maybe three on the team missing assignments, but they had a good 6 or 7 bunnies in the first 7 or 8 minutes of the second half. To me, that's a half time adjustment, not a quick 3 possession run.

For the record, though, I think Buzz has done a great job this season. I just think that his in game coaching needs a few more years of work before he really reaches his potential
