No. 19 Pittsburgh 58, MU 51

Out of character, and running out of chances.

That was the sum total of the aftermath of the Marquette Golden Eagles’ 58-51 loss to the No. 19 Pittsburgh Panthers at the Bradley Center on Thursday night.

Questionable shot selection, untimely turnovers, poor interior defense and mental breakdowns — all of it combined to bring MU’s five-game winning streak to a screeching halt as the Golden Eagles (16-9, 7-6 Big East) suffered their worst loss in league play to date, and tempered NCAA tournament talk for the time being.

Game plan ???? Pitt 50% shooting 1st half------60% 2nd half. It appeared that the team (MU) was confused. Pitt was going deep in the shot clock then getting a dunk or layup. It appeared that offensively there was to much one on one, perhaps you can credit the Pitt defense but the MU offense seemed to be out of rhythm. This was not the same team that I have been watching the last 5 or 6 games.
