Pitt was trying to give us the game, we didn't want it. Missed layups and turnovers were terrible. And if there is anyone out there that doesn't think we need a big body out there, just watch the game again. Once Hayward leaves, there will not be anyone left that can defend the post. McGee isn't even that great. Could you imagine Cousins down there. It would look silly.
Depaul by far.
C'mon SoCal. Take at least 15 minutes to exhale. No way this was worse.
Pitt was the better team. Period. Just cuz we lost doesn't mean we suck. And DePaul is INFINITELY worse than Pitt.

Nah dude, it's a guard game. Don't you know anything? Give us a m'fer in Mandarin Chinese, one time.
BADgers game was the worst by far. This was another just like it. MU needs a blend of Big Ten and BEAST style of play.

Waiting for some knucklehead to extrapolate IU beating Pitt, therefore, IU is better than MU.

You prove the point....guards play poorly, you don't win. Pretty simple. Bigs play poorly, you can still win.
Ask Roy Williams\UNC and Ben Howland\UCLA right now about how great their bigs are while they have zero guard play.

Haven't looked at the stats, but from what I saw, I didn't think Pitt's guards played well and they won.
Here's the answer we've all been waiting for:
TO BE AN ELITE TEAM, YOU MUST HAVE BOTH.
Can we agree that a team with only one half of the equation, can advance only so far, but not win a championship?
It was an ugly game, but extremely hard fought on both sides. Playing that hard, leads to fatigue, which leads to more turnovers and mental mistakes. Both teams were guilty of them, because both teams played exceptionally hard the whole game. Neither team went more than 7/8 deep.
Besides Lazar having a tough night, what really hurt was Mo Acker getting the two fouls in the first half and him sitting out for about the last 5 minutes of the first half. Cubi had a couple of BAD turnovers in that stretch, and what was a tie ball game, quickly ballooned to 9 point lead. DJO hit the 3 to make it 6 point game at the half.
As another poster said on another thread: We got Big Tenned tonite. I'd say that's about accurat. Would have been a great game to win, but the season moves on. Not nearly as hard to lose to a good team that didn't come down to them hitting some crazy buzzer beater(s) to knock us off.
