Title: Lose tonight and we are 10th, Win and we play Pitt for at least 5th Thursday
Post by: bamamarquettefan on February 13, 2010, 01:23:23 PM
Andy Katz was on the line during the SNY Big East UConn-Cincy game and one of the first things he talked about was how huge the USF-Marquette game was tonight for separation.  With Cincy winning that game, we would drop to 10th with a loss.  HOWEVER, a win tonight means we would be playing Pitt for 5th Thursday night or even for the top quartile if Gtown was upset at Rutgers or WVU at Providence between now and then.

Who would have believed tonight would be this HUGE.  Go Marquette!

The game tonight is very important (aren't they all now?), but as I have said for about three weeks now, the Pitt gtame is huge for our Dance chances. If we win that and go 4-3, or hopefully better, we would lock our chances of getting in. That would give us at least two quality wins in conference. 19-11 with our SOS and those two quality wins should get us in for sure.

They are are all big, but if we lose tonight we will HAVE to beat Pitt or its likely Tap City as Al would say.
