Title: Da' Sean Butler - 80% when the game is on the line?
Post by: Lennys Tap on February 13, 2010, 10:13:48 AM
Da'Sean Butler is one of the top players in college basketball this year but he's not the Superman one of our posters makes him out to be. Last night the guy who supposedly would make 80% of his fadeaway 20 footers at crunch time had 3 chances to seal the game for WVU and failed all 3 times. With 49 seconds left and his team up 7 he missed the front end of a one-and-one. With 40 seconds left and his team up 5 he did it again. He then missed a 3 point shot with 23 seconds left in the first overtime with his team down 2. Wonder where our "80% guy" is today?

None of the examples you just provided were fade away 20 footers.  Dean never mentioned ANYTHING about easy shots such as FT's and 3 pointers.

Butler is a great player but that 80% number is very unfounded.  I wouldn't even give Larry Bird or Reggie Miller that kind of a percentage on jump shots at the end of the game.

Hopefully all of our tough luck is behind us, and it will all average out.  Jimmy's shot is a sign of good things to come.

He hates mikedeanmeninger, who is apparently his agent, with the amount of man-love mdm gave Butler.
