A school should only be able to have one player be called Melo and Syracuse reached their limit a few years back.
Hope this is one of those "it's only one game" deals as Jones looked disinterested and did very little. (6 points, maybe 2 or 3 reounds with 30 seconds left. Bell (Villanova), Melo (Stracuse) Sheehy (Indiana) and Mondu-Misi (Stanford, Harvard or Villanova) all looked better as did a couple of kids who are nowhere near D1.

Yep, Jones looked like he would rather be anywhere else than on the basketball court. Hope it was just an off-day, since he didn't look close to a Big East caliber player.
His shot looked poor and his movement on defense was non-existant.

Agree, Jones looked lost as heck. Just stood around waiting to shoot a three. Did he even have 6 points? Missi was best player for Jones's team, but the junior forward for Sagemount, Days was awesome. Based on this game, Days will be quite the pickup for some team in two years. Sheehey was also terrific and appears to have excellent basketball awareness and a beautiful shooting stroke. Maybe Jones just had an off day, but not real impressive today.
You would think a HS kid playing on ESPNU would be interested. The last time he was on, I wasn't impressed either.
But high school basketball is such a different animal and most kids dont develop until they are established in their college programs....unless they are top 10 type recruits. That Fab Melo kid didnt look like the next great college center to me (and he's top 10)....but he will prob be great in another year or two. Jones will be the same way.
On the other hand, Brandon Knight is ridiculous.

Big surprise!
"Big surprise!"
My sentiments seem to echo what others saw...
So, what was your impression of watching him play?
You have anything intelligent to add?

I got a kick out of watching Melo play....quickly makes you realize how hard it is to land a big man that would be ready to play in the BEAST from day one. There was a lot of D1 talent on the floor, and not one of them impressed me. So it seems pretty obvious to me that TC, Buzz, Jay Wright, Jimmy B, etc... aren't all crazy, but rather that wasn't a good representation of their talent.
Did not see him play. based on what others who did, he does not seem too impressive.
Does anybody know what his stats are this year? I heard he averaged about 25 per game in Georgia as a junior.
If he really is not very good, then perhaps we should keep recruiting. It is not too heartening that the raves of players from this game were about other team's recuits.

Jeez...what a bunch of chicken littles. It was one game!
Ive seen him play before, and I think this is just a bad game. When I saw him play Winter Park (with Austin Rivers) earlier in the season he was much better, and he had about 20 points.

I watched about 10 minutes of the game before I realized I had better things to do with my life than watch a HS basketball game.
The only impressive performance was Moundo-Missi. Melo and Bell looked like... well... good high school players. The IU kid looked ok, too.
I'm certainly not going to judge these kids based on one high school game.
I know he had like 14 against Findlay Prep which had Cory Joseph a week or so ago and then over the holidays they were in a big tournament with some of the top teams and i know he had 32 one of those games.
