South Florida will give us fits, but if we win our next two games at Providence and home against South Florida things will be looking great for the Warriors. Please pack the Bradley Center for the home game against South Florida on Saturday February 13th. This team deserves a sell-out for that game. That could be the season! Lets Go Warriors!!!!!

I said to Ahoya06 when USF was 0-4 that I was most worried about that game. They are a matchup nightmare, especially with Gilchrest back. Not as big as Syracuse but quicker and more skilled. I'm cringing at the thought of Fulce and Williams trying to guard them.

If Otule can come back, this would be the game to do it. 5 more fouls away from Lazar and Jimmy will be helpful.

Hyperbole?

Syracuse is a top 5 team IN THE NATION... to say that USF is quicker and more skilled is... wrong.

I was referring to their frontcourt mainly (and as I read it now, I left that out... whoops). Outside of Johnson, Cuse has big bangers. Guys that MU can at least out-quick a little bit. USF has quicker, more finesse guys at those spots. The one advantage MU has is quickness, and it could be out the window. That's why I'm worried about this one.

Gotta beat PC first though.

Another classic trap game.  They played emotional game against Duke on Saturday and then follow up against USF

USF is also playing well which adds to the dynamic

USF is a good team. The already have defeated Pitt and Georgetown. They have the same record as MU. USF is going to be a battle for us.

I agree, will be tough but we should win.  For Gtown it was a trap game, for us it should not be .

I went to dinner with a Providence grad last night who thinks we will kill them.  I am very worried about the PC game for many reasons.  Having already lost to a horrible DePaul team, you cannot afford additional losses to the bottom 4 or 5 teams

MU simply has not played well against USF over the past 6 or 7 years.  always a struggle to the finish.  But, MU does have a week to prpare for that one.  In the meantime, its the Friars on the road.  That won't be a cakewalk.

Has anyone confirmed that Otule has been practicing?

The USF game did not worry me until their win last night.  Now I am worried.  For some reason they seem to have our number like East Carolina used to. Thank the man above that we don't play them in Tampa this season.  Given that it is a home game I feel better about it.

Though, I am more concerned about Providence coming up.  However, the potential losses (in order of potential) for the rest of the Big East season for me are...

1. at Seton Hall
2. at Providence
3. at Cincy
4. Loserville
5. USF

They've all been close since 2003.

2/22/1998 Tampa  L 53-57
12/13/1998 Milwaukee  L 63-75
2/24/2000 Tampa  W 61-60
1/17/2001 Milwaukee  W 72-68
1/11/2003 Milwaukee  W 96-63
2/26/2004 Tampa  W 70-63
1/15/2005 Milwaukee  W 66-64
1/28/2007 Tampa  W 70-68
1/29/2008 Milwaukee  W 62-54
2/6/2009 Tampa  L 56-57

I wonder if the loud guy with the straw hat (with attached bull horns) will make the trip up to the BC.  He's made the last few trips and would even go to the Big East Tournament when USF wasn't there.

I'm worried about them all.  When this team is playing a Villanova where we aren't expected to win but can play them close and steal it at the end we are at our best.  On these next few we've got to assert ourselves, get a lead and hold it.  That takes a level of maturity I'm not sure we have. (I guess we'll find out)
I agree with you putting Seton Hall first.  I think in Seton Hall's mind we are a team they should have been able to beat.  They've played us a lot and they've played us close but I don't beleive they've ever beat us.  They are better than prior years and I think they will have a chip on their shoulder from before.

Of course, no game should ever be overlooked in conference play, but the reality is that even the best teams lose their focus every once in a while.

If anything, I think the USF win last night works in Marquette's favor insomuch as there is now absolutely no question that USF has enough talent to beat anyone who's having an off night.  The Bulls are no longer under the radar, and the message is out that if you want to beat them, you better not overlook the game.

Sometimes you can benefit from someone else's wake-up call.

Rosiak's pre-DePaul game blog indicated that Otule had been working out and you might get a chance to see him put through his drills if you got to the BC early enough.    Indicated he looked healthy and moving well.

I got there shortly after 5:00 when the BC doors opened ( 1 hour before game-time).  Neither Otule or Mbao was working out last evening with the team.  Both stood on the side.

I was at the Depaul game in Rosemont last month early.  Otule was holding a large pad under the basket and leaning into players as they attempted layups.  At that point (two weeks ago) I was thinking that was pretty risky given a foot injury.  He looked like nothing was wrong.

Additionally, if they keep playing good ball and we beat them, who knows, they could turn into a nice win for MU. Knock on wood.
