Title: Last Schollie
Post by: tower912 on January 31, 2010, 11:46:05 AM
Logically, it goes to a JUCO big man.    Right now, the only player on the roster who will be a junior in eligibility is DJO.     Get the best JUCO PF you can so you can (A) balance the roster and (B) balance the classes.     Buzz and company are probably thinking about getting the best player available.   BTW, I predict we oversign again.

I think there might be an opportunity for a big man transfer (or de-commit) in the spring as a result of the coaching carousel.  It is good to have the open scholarship for such a case.

Saw an article where a source said that Buzz is in tight on a couple of JUCO PF's and a 2010 PF and the expectation is that we'll land one of them...anyone have any actual details on who one might be?

Saw this kids name pop up in relation to MU as of late [he's a high school senior] and the word is that he's a high energy, big-time rebounder with a knack for the ball.

Will Yeguete
Melbourne, FL
Height 6'7"
Weight 210 lbs

Does anyone know anything about him or any other recruits for that matter?

One article I found on Yeguete stated that at some Elite camp he hauled in 50 rebounds in 3 games...ideally I'd like a little more size, but with a team of guards capable of running the floor, I'd love to snag a guy who can pull the ball off the glass and get us moving in transition...

Agreed, I'd say the signing of D.J. Newbill shows that we aren't going to wait for Walker to make a decision and get burned, and given the youth of the team he doesn't want to over-recruit over any of the younger guys. I also see a JUCO PF in his sights, and given Buzz' track record on JUCO players, ommitting Clark, has been stellar.
