Pearl, Maymon speak about transfer
Jeronne Maymon had classes at Tennessee for the first time which perhaps was the impetus for both he and Vols head coach Bruce Pearl speaking about the former MU player transfering to the SEC school.
Said Pearl: "[Maymon] brings a level of toughness and physicality that we need, and he can score inside and out."
Maymon is a walk-on - for now - but Tennessee is expected to have four scholarships available next season.

Ding ding. Can't think of a better program to develop in as a person either. Can't think of a better man than Bruce Pearl.
Want to play in the NBA, JayMay?
Only ONE Vol under Pearl has made it to the League: CJ Watson.

Another funny quote....from that article...
Quote"We both do the same type of stuff, but I'm more of a slasher,'' said Maymon, who stays in contact with Harris.
Uh...ok. Have fun JMay.
A slasher? What world is he living in? Unfortunately, this story is doomed to have an unhappy ending.
I can sincerely say good luck to Jeronne. He has a whole year to sit out and practice. Maybe he has matured a bit and his father is far enough away and realizes this may be his last chance to have a good college BB career. Now that that distraction is out of the way, let's win BB games and get Marquette in the NCAA tourney.
he's a walk-on? So he's paying his way this semester?

My favorite part is where he grew an inch and lost 10 lbs from the listing on the wiki page. (http://wiki.muscoop.com/doku.php/men_s_basketball/jeronne_maymon)

More of a slasher than the 6'8", 210 lb. Harris.
Hey, wait a minute...
slasher? Who does he aspire to be? OJ?

He has to, they don't have any available scholarships at this time, so if he wants to go there he's got to pay.
Pay with what? Come on.
With all these lies flying around in this story, it's like dealing with a step-mother.

They can set him up with enough scholarships and grants (legitimately) to make it through this semester. Add in some student loans and he'll be fine. It's just one semester and he probably believes he'll make millions in a couple of years so some loans are no big deal. At least in his mind.
I'm 35 and I only paid of my MU loans a few years ago.
Has Bruce Pearl seen him play? "He can score inside"....against 5'10" high school player. That load had a tough time getting a layup against Florida Atlantic.

Let's just hope for Pearl's sake that it's all on the up and up, because with all the gun related nonsense going on with UT's athletes, the NCAA has to have them under a microscope at this point.

i highly doubt it is on the up and up. Remember the dad said the last day that they were waiting on what school would put together the best package. Right.
Marquette has two free scholarships, playing time and is in state for his family to watch him play. They also run a clean program and will get a first class education. He should have came here. Guess the obvious is difficult for some people.
So are they still giving Tyler Smith a scholarship to go to school for the semester despite kicking him off the team? Nice. Not that I care if the Maymons get a scholarship this semester, but they still deserve one over a soon to be felon.
I still think that the funniest part of this whole thing is that not only does JM have nothing to do but work hard to prove he deserves playing time for next year, but he actually has to bust his hump to prove he deserves a scholarship now.

Regardless of what Smith's status is at the school, from the NCAA's perspective, they've already used that scholarship on Smith, so it's not available.
