Are we using Michigan as an example of how to get things done? They are brutal right now.
Mr. MUHoops85 here. My wife is the actual MUHoops85 and is a very proud graduate of Marquette University (MU) as is my daughter however I am a graduate of Northwestern University (NU) and you have struck my pet peeve.
Call it nitpicking if you must but Northwestern is one word, therefore the acronym for Northwestern University is NU, not NW.
Let it be forever known.
One other thing while I'm on my soapbox, mentioning the University of Wisconsin at Madison almuns referring to themselves as the "Harvard of the Midwest" is not only insulting to Harvard but to the actual Harvard of the Midwest. In other words, what happens when a Northwestern student flunks out and enrolls at Wisconsin? It raises the academic standings of both universities.
Sorry, I will go back underground now.
'Cats are awesome.

Maybe your wife would be able to answer this question that has been puzzling me since last year. I visited my friend in Evanston over MU's fall break and went to the NU-Purdue homecoming game on Saturday. They played this song and did cheers that used "Go U NU".
This was super confusing to me, as it would suggest they were cheering for "University of Northwestern University"
What is the origen/meaning behind this cheer?
The fight song is entitled "Go U Northwestern". I have no idea why but thanks for asking.
Mr. Hoops, hit me up with your favorite dining spots in Evanston.
