After the last three games MUScoop has be inaccessible? What is the problem?
I had the same problem.....too many of us trying to get on at the same time?
Yeah, over the past month, we've been having server issues .. seems to be slowly failing. Rocky has been working on that, and hopefully we'll be moving to a new server, which will be faster, as the old one is 3+ years old and is powered by one mouse on an exercise wheel.
yeah, I've had the same problems. Good to know it's being looked at.
MUScoop World Headquarters.
Impressive.
Yup, I'll be taking the site down for a few hours on Friday night to move over to a new dual core xeon server. Some things like the "Recent posts" box on the left and chat will be removed semi-permanently until we know that things are stable.
For the technical info, we are on a dedicated server (p4 at this point), but the site is heavily database driven, and the server can't keep up with the database queries under heavy load - they eventually lead it down a path into never never land.
Please bear with us - we're dedicated to returning the site to its "high reliability" status we had the first few years. Until this year, we've never had to force a reset on the server during the hoops season. This year, it's happened 4 or 5 times. Just a few growing pains, and we'll be back to normal soon.
For what it's worth, if anybody is looking for a good place for their website, I will put a plug in for our host - HostGator - the tech staff has been very responsive the past few weeks, and are going above and beyond to keep a special eye on our mouse driven server.

...to move over to a new dual core xeon server.
Excuse my complete ignorance regarding hosting a website, but who pays for the new server?
