We've had some pretty good success pulling recruits out of Chicago in recent years (Gates, Amal, Wardle, Wade, Mason, Barro, & Jerel) but nothing this year. So... I think our odds with Luke Fabrizius next year are pretty good!! ;D

Call it the Big East Effect or whatever.
I think national recruiting is as important as local recruiting. The latter contribute to the "Ties that bind" - fan base growth, control/influence of local market, Marquette in the back of every WI and IL prospect's mind.
