I was expecting to get blown out but the boys came through with an impressive effort. You take away the WVU three at the half and we hit one of those 1&1's, we have a win vs. the sixth ranked team in the country on the road.
Impressive effort but now let's just get that mental strength to hit the ft's. I have a feeling we'll surprise quite a few teams in the BE this year.
I don't disagree, but it's frustrating. It's one thing to lose these games after we make a comeback, quite the other to be in control of these games and watch them disappear.

Just curious---Does your computer ranking go up with an impressive effort that is a loss?

Not sure about the computer rankings but it certainly is something the selection committee would look at when comparing bubble teams. We'd all rather have the wins but one point losses on a "neutral" court vs. FSU and at WVU show that this team is much better than folks expected. Our play is certainly raising some eyebrows across the country. We just need to follow this up with some unexpected wins. Good place to start is this weekend at home vs. 'Nova!!
FIRE IT UP MARQUETTE!!!
Yes a game like last night helps the computer rankings. We are now 24th in the Pomeroy.
Obviously it helps more if you win............ :(
This game reminded me of the ND game in Novak's senior year in reverse.
ND controlled that game even more then we controlled the game last night and then Novak's cold blooded trey from the corner just stole the game from the Irish.
