Other than the unfortunate free throws at the end of the game and the defense that followed, DJO once again proved that he is a lights-out shooter and scorer. Therefore, I feel that Buzz should start to run plays to get him the ball, not just isolating him. It would be nice to see them use him like JJ Redick and trying to run him off screens and get him open catch and shoot opportunities. I think he deserves and should get as many shots as anyone else on the team.
Yes, those free throws were most unfortunate. Barely hitting the rim...I didn't expect him to choke like that. And Butler recaptures his form from the Fl. St. game. Sure would like to have someone reliable like Diener or Novak again. Anybody know how our four new players for next year shoot from the line?

correct...DJo is a star in the making 11 games into his carrer at Mu he is on his way to legitimate stardom his quickness is simply amazing. His combination of shot fakes, stutter steps, athleticism, shooting and driving of the ball is simply outstanding. He is a star, when he gets a little stronger defensively he will be a flat out stud.
Using him like Reddick would neutralize his speed, quickness, and dribbling ability. I'd much rather have a dynamic guard that can shoot well than an unathletic guard who just sits outside the line waiting to get that pass for a jump shot. As nice as the 3 ball is, games are won and lost on defense and the ability to penetrate.
As has been pointed out once or twice, we don't have much presence in the paint this year. DJO successfully counteracts that with penetration (so does DB, just not as much). If DJO and DB continue to improve on the dribble drive, our lack of 4/5s won't be as serious a handicap.

Hayward said it best in this above post - DJO is a STUD, star in the making. I'll go as far to say he is the best player to come to MU since D-Wade..yes I realize that implies better than any of the Big 3..and I stand by that comment. I could almost see DJO being good enough to turn pro after next year (his junior season).
No reason for him not to start ahead of Cubillan, and get 12-15 shots a game.
Time will tell if he's the best recruit since DWade. One thing's for sure: he's the smoothest player I've seen in an MU jersey in quite sometime. Love the lefty jumper. DJO kinda has a little Michael Redd in him.

I would not be too concerned wether he starts over Cubi. It does not matter who starts it matters who is in during winning time. Also i beleive Djo had 35 minutes last night. he is playing enough. i also beleive Buzz wants some type of spark off the bench. Strat Djo and we have nothing to bring in.

I agree, it keeps the rhythm of the game flowing when a starting guard who doesn't shoot much takes a seat, and now the opponent needs to worry not just about Zar, but DJO as well.
Starting lineups are for middle school teams. I'd be more concerned with total PT.
Get to a home game half an hour early and watch the first warm up. DJO will put on a dunking show. If he keeps progressing, he may only be at MU for two years.

DJO did the same thing in the Fl St. game. He missed a front end of a 1&1 when we were up around three points. Basically went unnoticed, because Butler missed so many free throws in that game. Maybe at the end of the game the ball should have been in Lazar's hands.
