Title: Uverse question
Post by: MUAlum99 on December 29, 2009, 09:06:57 AM
For those with Uverse in the MKE area - do I need to just get the Sports Package ($10/month) or do I have to get the ESPN Gameplan package ($115) or both to see the MU games?  Example: the MU game seems to be on SNY tonight - but will I get the game if I just order the Sports Package?    ?-(

Thanks in advance!

I'm not in MKE, but I have the Sports Pack and haven't missed any televised games.

The $10 Sports Package will get you many of the games live, but not all.

Typically, SNY will carry a Marquette game that would be televised on TW Sports 32 or WMLW as long as there isn't another NY-area team (Syracuse, Rutgers, St. Johns) that is airing on a non-ESPN station (exc. Full Court) at the same time; in such a case, the game may still be televised but on a tape delay.

ESPN-FC should get you every MU game for the rest of the season that isn't on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU.

If money is no object, definitely bypass the Sports Package and go for ESPN-FC.  Otherwise, the Sports Package is a decent second option.

I live 40 miles north of Milwaukee, and with the U-Verse sports package I've had a couple games blacked out on SNY.  If I get FC will the games still be blacked out?  They're blacked out on ESPN 360 as well.  Some games are, some aren't....I can't figure out a rhyme or reason to it.  Anyone know?

Given your issues, avid101, it sounds like the FC plan is the way to go...ordering now!

It looks like this game is blacked out locally on espn360.com, but according to a chat I just had with att customer service they don't have a bulletin yet calling for the game to be blacked out locally on SNY.

mc150m(MARK ANTHONY): How can I make you a VERY SATISFIED customer today?
You: I'd like to know if there is a way to tell if a program, specifically an upcoming sporting event will be "blacked-out" locally.
mc150m(MARK ANTHONY): I see. For that one in that kind of scenarios with the programming especially with sports event we don't have a way wherein a specific event will not be shown on the day before it goes on air.
You: what about an event that is happening today. Specifically the marquette vs. west virginia college basketball game on SNY.
mc150m(MARK ANTHONY): I do apologize for this one.
mc150m(MARK ANTHONY): I can check that for you. If we have receive an update regarding that.
mc150m(MARK ANTHONY): May I know what channel it is supposed to be shown?
You: 704 i think. Sports New York
mc150m(MARK ANTHONY): Thank you for that very helpful information. Let me check here on my end.
mc150m(MARK ANTHONY): As I have check here we didn't receive any updates for that game if it will not be shown today.
You: Is there a way that I can recieve an email if there is an update for that? Or does the lack of an update at this point mean that it will be shown?
mc150m(MARK ANTHONY): I do apologize as of now there are no updates.. So it means it will be shown today.
