why Wes only got 7 min last night? Hurt?
I do not know, but Korver is now back and he will eat a lot of Wes' minutes, because he is a lights out shooter.
Couldn't figure it out either....Korver isn't back...he played a couple of minutes and sat because he knee was giving him trouble yet.
Could it be that either Wes Matthews Sr or Pam Moore called Sloan and demanded the offense be run through Wes?
The most basic explanation...CJ Miles was hot last night, so Sloan kept him in.
Really though, this is to be expected, given the way Sloan coaches. You don't lose your spot because of injury, and both Miles and Kirilenko were out quite a bit recently because of injury. Now both of those guys are back and working they're way back to full strength, which means Wes isn't going to play much.
Even Jazz fans were talking about it on they're forums, speculating they won't see much of Wes for the rest of the season because those other guys are health.

The rumor coming out of Salt Lake City this afternoon is that Wes is asking for an unconditional release from the Jazz so that he can join the Nets, get to an NBA Finals or two, and then retire and wait for his Hall of Fame call.
Don't forget that Matthews' contract is nearing its guarantee date.

Based on his play this season, why would you NOT want to guarantee him a contract?!?
They have 13 players on the roster since Harpring is done for the year and maybe his career. Considering he hasn't even lost his starting spot yet they're not going to dump him.

Wes has found a home. No way does he get cut

I'm not sure the juxtaposition of your vocabulary is appropriate. Merry Christmas anyway!
The trend continues...only 8 minutes tonight.

I'll write it again, don't forget that Matthews' contract is nearing its guarantee date.

You can write it all you want, but they'd be fools not to pay him the minimum.
There is no way they cut ties with Wes.

I'd be fine with Harpring gone, he hasn't done much recently.
Utah traded Eric Maynor and Matt Harpring to OKC for the rights to a random 2002 draft pick.
This should open up a couple of more minutes for Wesley. However, Miles is back healthy, and Korver is on his way as well...we will see how things play out.
His year has exceeded all expectations. I am happy with the fact he is still on a roster and given a chance to contribute
